Fat Manny is ripping Golden on QAM

The Ville was also without Dyer and the top playmaking WR. Let that sink in for a few seconds, fools.

I think losing Williams was a bigger deal than even them losing their 1st rd draft pick WR.

Despite our inept staff, I think we might have came out with a W if we had him in there.

I agree. I think we win that game last night with Ryan Williams.

The problem is, Coley just **** the bed and curled up in the fetal position with is True Frosh. WHY START HIM THEN?? That game last night was very winnable for us. We just did not do SH*T on offense, and coached scared the whole game.

This is why I have said over and over that the "cloud" and the NCAA mess really did f*ck us much worse than people realize.

The NCAA mess got Golden a bunch of extra extensions and extra slack. Apart from the excuses and extra time he bought himself, he also got his contract so hefty, that we are f*cked if we have to fire him after this season unless there is a complete collapse.

Under normal circumstances, THIS season would have been MAKE or BREAK for Golden. No major improvement, he would have been gone. But because of the NCAA mess, he's almost certainly got AT LEAST another year before they seriously consider canning him, barring a total collapse this season.

Lu: can you go into detail about why you think the problem goes beyond coaching? Want to hear your thoughts as I've felt this for a LONG time.

Because I trust patterns and believe in root causes. We have underperformed for approximately 10 years and over 3 separate leadership groups. This deserves its own thread, mang.

Once Nebraska ****s on our forehead he's finished

The scary part is if we beat Nebraska. The problem is real folks, and any signs of life will only prolong the process. Nebraska has had a recent history of looking just like us. We lose and we speed up the process on something we all know needs to happen. But if we somehow win, remember Nebraska can lose this game to us, and it will just buy Al more time.......

Penn State dodged a bullet. It hit us though.

How I felt then and now. When a situation like that presents, you take the opportunity to start from scratch. The problem continues to look like it's deeper than the coaching staff.

Can't agree with this more. It seems Shalala is content winning 7-8 games a year as long as the program looks good to the outside.

While I'm not sure that he'd do it, Golden still has the "Fire the majority of your assistants" card to play to buy himself more time and of course The Troll would more than likely eat that **** up like it was 20yr. cooze instead of opting to ****can him and pay the buyout.

I remember Joe Rose saying that he was told by somebody close to the situation that Golden once said that if the administration tried to make him fire Mark D that they could have his resignation as well. If that still holds true today that could be our way out of this mess..

If he had the sack for that he would have done it last season. He's going down with the ship.

100% this. These were his guys and he decided to ride with them and tie himself with them, he doesnt get the extra year to fire assistants, he will be the target this time

Then start that thread and let's get to it. The coaching last night was downright laughable, I've defended Golden quite a bit, but got****, that offense was something a JV team would trot out.

while our D did not perform perfectly, they certainly did enough to keep us in the game and give the ball to the O. they were a pleasant surprise.

the O, on the other hand, underperformed dramatically and Coley's playcalling was atrocious. while a great recruiter, it appears he is not a very good OC. Golden might already know this and has prepared for his departure by bringing in Ice and Jorge Baez to replace Coley's recruiting value.

The first mistake was hiring from within because the talent and continuity was there to win a ship. The second mistake was once again hiring from within when the solution was clearly to start from scratch. We finally did that the third, sort of, Kehoe came back though. The problem was that we were so stripped down from the previous two mistakes nobody really wanted the job. Plus it didn't help we weren't willing to open up the check books.

Right now we have a limited time opportunity where our talent looks appealing, but if we hold on to Al too long that will also dwindle and we will be in the exact same situation as 2010/2011. We needed to move last January when Al went dark on us.

Lu is right. There are a ton of reasons outside THE U that have landed us here--most come from EVERYONE want us here. Inside THE U, the administration back to Foote did not want the football team we were and loved. The only thing defeating them was Butch's recruiting -- for JJ, left them for Dennis and again for Coker.

When Howard got hired he said, THE ONLY thing keeping Miami from being a football power was the coaching it has always had. Then he proved it. That remains the only problem. We have ton of talent this year but coaching sucks. Donna will probably intentionally hire another loser to replace Al just to shut us up for a couple years. Howard was a college assistant coach with great pedigree(The Bear himself)and a fantastic NFL HC who failed as a NFL HC. Everyone pray the Donna screws up and hires Chud(maybe he will work cheap, that would get her), who then brings in Butch to recruit and maybe be DC. I'll leave OC to Chud because he was one and should be able to pick one. Absent that, we can't fix this without getting rid of Donna and hiring someone who thinks and acts like an SEC President.

For me, as an alum, donor, and life long fan who watch Ted terrorize QBs in the OB, I would rather cancel the football program and deny Donna the money it brings, than live through more years of this. Lord, it hurt to say that, but Donna is just a hired hand, like Al, and does not deserve association with THE U. Neither have earned it nor have they paid for it. To have our legacy left in their hands is unconscionable; better to buried the program with the honors it deserves and not allow these scums to benefit from it.

Double down on that: Make him fire Coley too. Maybe he will resign twice. No $$$$ to him if he quits.

Good. The sooner they can get them to exercise their suicide pact the better.

Look! We all want Al gone today! We don't have to look far or wide for the next coach! 1a. Butch 1b. Greg Schiano. I would love the crowd, sorry make that the few in attendance, the chant all game long "We Want Butch!" the a plane banner with fire Al Golden, Bring back Butch!

People who say it has already started are correct. Tim Reynolds is a fat piece of **** but he was posting some pretty damning stats last night.

Who knew that Fat Manny would be my player of the game with his performance this morning? Sad that Manny can adjust and Al can't.

So, at what point is he "really" on the hot seat? I'm afraid we're not going to be happy with the "real" answer.

I think his seat just got quite warm. It wasn't the loss, it was the WAY we lost. That offensive performance looked like a team that had no idea what it was doing. Terrible OL play, terrible play calling, throw a True Frosh out there in game one, on the road, and then have him do nothing because you are scared to death of letting him throw, then WHY THE **** DID YOU START HIM???

Yesterday smacked of amateur hour. At least on the offensive side. Coley is in over his head, BIG TIME. He was a young OC at FIU, then had a brief stint learning under Jimbo at FSU, mostly as a recruiter, and now has to manage the whole offense by himself, because the HC doesn't know d*ck about offense.

There are no X and O coaches on this staff. Kehoe is terrible. Coley is a good recruiter, but the guy is just in WAY over his head as an OC here.

I think a lot of people could have lived with a loss, but the way this team looked yesterday on offense was pathetic. AG's seat just got hot, because in the end, there was a fundamental logic disconnect in the decisions that were made.

Either you roll with Heaps to protect Kaaya, or you throw Kaaya into the fire, and let him sink or swim. But you don't throw the kid into the fire, and then try to coach from the fetal position running into 9 man fronts terrified to throw the ball or do anything.

I actually don't think this team is in as bad a shape as we looked last night. Some competent coaching and organization on offense, and we have the talent to be playing in the ACCCG. But this staff is in total disarray. And AG is in a real BIND IMO. Coley is his best recruiter, but its clear that the guy is in WAY over his head as an OC.

See I think you're wrong there. Not the "he doesn't know **** about offense" comment but Golden has his hands all over this offense. He is EXTENSIVELY involved with every aspect of this team unfortunately. Not giving Coley a pass but Golden's **** skinners are all over this team.
