Uknowwhat:
With all due deference, in my opinion, the University already dropped the ball on the 2016 class by retaining Al Golden. Regardless of whether or not Golden is fired at the end of next year, I think few Miami fans are fazed at the prospect of losing a bunch of 2016 kids when compared to the immediate necessity of removing Al Golden (and his enablers) from the program we love. Mostly, this is simply because many of us don't really believe that the 2016 class, great kids that they may be, will materialize as advertised, especially considering the way 2015 just went, with 15+ de-commitments.
The venom will continue, the seats will stay empty; Al Golden as head coach at Miami is an adjunct failure, and he will get fired, the only question is when. So, as fans, we'd naturally like the situation resolved as quickly as possible, in no small part to minimize the damage. And yes, the fan backlash is of course damaging itself, but it is as much a necessary evil as it is a predictable reaction to the school's ambivalence towards it's own program.
seats will always be empty no matter what team we have out there
Not with a great product and a 55K seat stadium, they wouldn't.
