Fans - The Direction of our Hatred

Uknowwhat:

With all due deference, in my opinion, the University already dropped the ball on the 2016 class by retaining Al Golden. Regardless of whether or not Golden is fired at the end of next year, I think few Miami fans are fazed at the prospect of losing a bunch of 2016 kids when compared to the immediate necessity of removing Al Golden (and his enablers) from the program we love. Mostly, this is simply because many of us don't really believe that the 2016 class, great kids that they may be, will materialize as advertised, especially considering the way 2015 just went, with 15+ de-commitments.

The venom will continue, the seats will stay empty; Al Golden as head coach at Miami is an adjunct failure, and he will get fired, the only question is when. So, as fans, we'd naturally like the situation resolved as quickly as possible, in no small part to minimize the damage. And yes, the fan backlash is of course damaging itself, but it is as much a necessary evil as it is a predictable reaction to the school's ambivalence towards it's own program.

seats will always be empty no matter what team we have out there

Not with a great product and a 55K seat stadium, they wouldn't.

Man, there is no way, NONE, that he can win 6 games and stay. He has to win the conference to gain the fan base back, which he won't do. This is his Brady Hoke year. Nobody comes back from this. He should already be gone.

Typical dolt. In the post above, you claim nothing the fans can do will move the needle. Then, in this post, you claim Folden needs to win the conference to get the fan base back.

If the fans and their opinions and actions don't matter, then why does he need to get them back on his side in order to keep his job?

Nice try. The fans petitions, complaints, banners, social media noise won't do squat. Why? It is the vocal minority. You are, and will continue to be, ignored. Now, the common fan will go to games if he wins. That, sir, is your reality.

The only thing will get this man fired is his performance. Unfortunately for our program, his performance is awful. This man has no chance.

Yes, you are right. We wouldn't fill a 55K seat stadium at all if we were successful. Oh, and how's your glass of shut the **** up taste?

ok so how many games did you actually go to? were you there for the bring your child for free day against troy in 01? or how about the empty games against temple, rutgers? the point is, we wont be some SEC/FSU type crowd no matter what. wed get better attendance that what we have now but it wont be what u think itll be. btw, have you seen this: 53,837 is our number for 2013. do you think we actually got close to that per game outside of UF? how do you actually know miami didnt use funny math back then as they do now when they announce attendance? they go by tickets sold not turnstiles

I'm willing to bet money right now that if he wins 8 games next year he'll get more time.

Rooting for losses has never been a more "real Canes fan" thing to do than it is THIS SEASON. We play in a ****** conference and he could conceivably luck his way into a few close wins and then beat the bad teams on the schedule and get to 8 wins.

I'll be rooting to lose every week next season...and in doing so I'm rooting FOR the program.
I think anything above six wins and he stays. 7 wins or more and we ****ed

Announced attendance and actual attendance are two very different things.

Every win next season is a loss. It just further emboldens the administration to keep the worst head coach in America even longer.

You superfans needs to realize that a cozy little 7 or 8 win season next year is the WORST thing that could possibly happen to this program. Purgatory would continue.

I see the mopes are out in full force. Class isn't great, but it's top 20 on Rivals by average stars. Ain't nothin wrong with this program that good coaching and a couple winning seasons won't cure. 10-3 last year (which we had the talent for), and we get a top 10 class.

Program is dead? Go away, mopes.

Lol at this guy. There hasn't been good coaching at Miami for almost a decade. Lol if you think the program is alive and well. Local coaches hate the program. Your best players in your area go to an actual real football program like Ohio State or Florida State, you have a coach that won't make any changes, and nobody shows up for games. You're going to continue to look real stupid next season when they got 6-6 at best. Off with you.

Well, I fully expect 6-6, because we won't have good coaching. That'll mean a gone Golden, and a better coach, and . . . . a not dead program. We are now at the stage where we have to earn back the swag. Been living off the fumes of the past for too long anyway. I'm gonna ride it out. Won't be surprised if you sit it out until we good again.

He never does. That's why I didn't bother embarrassing him any further.
