Fans - The Direction of our Hatred

Totally agree, Map.

As much as it pains me, I have decided to cancel my spring trip for a Canes baseball series. Believe me, that will hurt me more than UM, but I feel like I have to do something.

Going to UM baseball games is one of favorite things to do in the Spring....and yeah...I'm torn on whether I should attend going forward.

If I step foot at Dolphin Stadium this year it will be solely for the purpose of standing outside by the gates and discouraging fans from going inside.

We should raise **** at the Spring game. Turn it into a ****ing circus. Banners, chants, heckling all game....
I think a strong showing of force at the spring game will be an effective message of disappointment to the administration and the coaching staff but it will be a strong message to the 2016 class...so do we risk disolving that class to get the message across?

That class will dissolve on its own if Folden sticks around. See what happened to the 2015 class? The 2015 class used to be great just like the 2016 class is now.

Franchise do you honestly think a circus at the spring game will help with 2016 or hurt it? And again will it be worth the risk?

Al being our coach is hurting the '16 class. Its fine and dandy that we have all this elite talent committed right now (including your son) but at the end of the day people see that Al is a lame duck coach who doesn't want to be here, neglects his prime recruiting area and who doesn't utilize his players to the best of their abilities. That article on the Herald was spot on. He's trying to make us the Virginia of the south. That ain't us and never will be.

No vast improvement this year and he's gone (PRAYERFULLY) then that '16 class is gone regardless unless they make a homerun hire (Butch). A lot of these kids I feel are using the U as a placeholder and will move on once the wheels fall off next season. Not firing him after last season doomed the '16 class no matter the amount of commits we have right now

Yah, let's burn down the athletic center, scorch the playing field, poison the trees. Do whatever it takes to accelerate what IS ALREADY GOING TO HAPPEN.

Bad coaches get fired. Al is a bad coach and will be fired. So all you guys are talking about is time. Golden will be gone in 9 months or so. Just relax and hang in there. You are not doing anything constructive

This year proved he was "bad." He remains employed. Only a blind person would infer from those facts that they are going to fire him next year.

I don't think it would help or hurt with the 2016 class. That class will fall apart if Folden is retained regardless of what happens at the spring game. And the class will flourish if they fire him and hire a high-quality replacement regardless of what happens at the spring game.

Fans feel like they need to be heard, and UM has shown us that they're not listening yet. So, we have to ratchet up our game in order to get the message across.

That's the new rap with Folden's few remaining stragglers. They act like they want him fired, but they don't want anyone making any noise. They just assume the idiots at UM will do the right thing even though they've clearly proven they won't.

You are wrong. They want to keep this guy. They even sent Bennie Blades out to say Al needs TWO MORE years. Anything less than total war will buy him another year. He is the coach they want. Donna is loving every minute of this. We need to threaten complete destruction to threaten the money tree that is ACC. At this point, i would support egging anyone going into a game without a "Fire Golden" shirt on. Anyone giving solace to the enemy is the enemy. Last month my oldest grandchild was informed by me that the college trust fund I have for all 15 of them is no longer allowed to pay money to Miami. She is now applying to other schools. I have seven digit money that was intended for THE U that it will never see, plus 15 less alums down the road.

We are a basketball school, plain and simple. We have turned into the Virginia football team of Florida. Thanks Alfred!

...should not be towards Al Golden. This aids-filled fire dumpster of a recruiting class is exactly what one would expect when you go 6-7, fail to make any exciting staff changes after such a deplorable season, and retain a head coach who is arguably the worst in the country and who clearly wants to leave. So let's direct our hate and angst towards the people to blame for this ****ing disaster: the UM administration. They bring to together a violent mix of incompetence and apathy that appears to be truly destroying this program, one that should thrive in perpetuity given our prime location in the middle of the foremost recruiting hotbed.

I have not felt so low about this program ever, probably because I was born after Lou Saban became the HC. If ANYONE attends games next year, they assist in ringing the death knell for this one storied program. Sad, sad day for us true fans.

melodramatic..

You should stop posting and become a actor. take about 20-30 of these posters with you.

Lol one good coaching staff away from where we need to be. I guess I'm in the minority, I'm not worried.

This "But the 2016 class! ..." crap has got to GO!. Same thing said last year about "Our great 2015 class"

Why is it that you want to ignore all the other variables involved here though? Golden was given a nice extension when the Shapiro ****storm hit, which has obviously made it a LOT more expensive to can him than it otherwise would have been. Without the Shapiro extension, I feel pretty confident UM would have canned Golden this year. There is no way they could have justified keeping him with the EXACT same record Shannon had, with NO signs that anything is getting better.

The only thing keeping Golden employed this year is the size of his buyout, which no matter what, will be less next year. Now we just have to hope its manageable that the School can bite down and swallow it next year.

Donna Shalala is a politician. The people around her are political hacks. They know the game well. I don't believe for ONE MINUTE that they believe this is Golden's "first year" or that they have ANY faith in him. That's all bullsh*t PR spin. They have to say that because they cant say the truth which is "we were in a real hole when the Shapiro thing hit and had to extend this guy to keep him, and now he has us over a barrel and we just cant swallow the buyout this year, so we are hoping we can fire him next year".

Golden is a dead man walking. He knows it, everyone knows it. If UM can stomach the buyout next year, he's gone, barring, of course, some unimaginable miracle run where he somehow wins the ACC and ends up in the playoffs or some ****. Which is about as likely as my dog learning Cantonese.

This is all about money now.

Come on brother, wake up.

How many of those 2016 kids will remain in tact if Golden manages to win a few close lucky games next year and finishes with a mediocre 8 win season. The administration won't fire him if he gets to 8 wins...and the fans will be EVEN MORE ****ed off.

It's a war at this point. We need to burn this **** down to the ground and embarrass the **** out of the administration. They can't be trusted to do the right thing.

I understand...by any means necessary...i think a protest at the spring game will be an effective message... I just don't want the kids i was planning on bringing to the spring game to see the display and have a bad taste put in their mouths...

Hopefully the kids know to commit to the University and not the coach. I saw a bunch of kids commit to Jim Mora today, and they'll be upset in the next year or so. It works both ways.

They don't. They listen to the BS the coaches feed them. Look at the kids going to South Carolina. Spurrier is on his way out, he's mentally checked out already, and has said he's not going to be around much longer. When he's gone, South Carolina will go back to being the Wake Forest of the SEC along with Vandy. They lucked into Spurrier who made them relevant again, because the dude loves to Golf. They aren't going to get that lucky again, and all those kids that went there to play for him are going to be up the creek.

I say this honestly and the nicest way I know how...

Don't bring the kids to that game. It's not going to be a good atmosphere.

Thank you map. Finally, reason and common sense.

Toxicity, hating and the infantile name calling only degrades the environment.

Calling golden childish names and endlessly repeating his failings is practically pointless.

The performance record of Golden and his staff: res ipsa loquitor.

Hating does nothing to improve the situation. The bot and new administration need the facts of poor performance. They need the drum beat of the facts of incompetence.

The fan base and recruits don't need the constant childish name-calling and hate. This only pollutes our future.

Map you are spot on.

Ps if golden were sacked tomorrow I'd be ok with that.

It's over, man. It's dead. Donezo.
Sad to say I think this is spot on. There's just an unwillingness on the part of the Higher ups to invest in this program. Enjoy the past. Hopefully I'm wrong and the new president makes things right but as of right now miami hurricanes football is dead.
