Let me ask you this? What were those numbers in TVD’s breakout 2021 stretch of 3 TD’s and 300 yards per game?
We have a much better offensive roster than that year.. why is that not possible?

In that 6 game stretch, Miami averaged 462 yards per game, or 6.31 Yards Per Play

They also scored 35.8 PPG in those 6 games.

Those numbers for an entire season, would rank you:

15th in PPG
17th in YPG
24th in YPP

So, still not at the level that this guy is projecting us to finish for an entire season (not a 6 game sample), against much better competition. Anything is possible, but averaging those numbers is highly improbable.

See, That's one of the BIGGEST reasons why I still have us pegged at 6-6; 7-5.

ANOTHER unusual rash of injuries.... I fully expect another rash of injuries to key starters across position groups.

Just come together as a team with the young talent and show some fight all year; after the first few injuries happen in the beginning of the season.- through the injuries that will lilkely happen when we least need them as the season wears on.

Debatable. Gotta play some games first but I could argue this OL *should* be better. Very real possibility it’s considerably better.

QB is the same guy.

Can Arroyo, Skinner, Williams be > Brevin & Mallory? Don’t think it’s impossible.

Knighton was suspended the first 4 games, Chaney got hurt after 2 games, Cam Harris blew his knee out in mid-season, Thad ate a lot of donuts. No chance that, as a group, Don, Parrish, Ajay Allen, and the 2 freshmen are better than that MASH unit? Remember, in those 6 games where we exploded on offense, Rooster was the literal only back we had.

So then you get to can we find WRs who are better than Rambo and Harley? Tough ask for sure, but maybe Colbie can do some of what Rambo did on the outside? X can replicate Harley but with a lower aDOT? This is where I get to my hesitation. Rambo and Harley caught 136 balls. I don’t think we get 2 guys who can combine to catch that many. But we could wind up having more depth by the end of the season than we did in 2021, if, and there are all if’s, but if Harrell stays healthy. If Kirk really is a player. If Colbie takes the next step as a legit difference maker outside now that teams have film on him. If X continues to improve and stays healthy. If George and/or Smiff actually play like blue chippers. There is talent here. But I wouldn’t fight anyone who said this room won’t produce like it did in 2021.

Bottom line, the talent is certainly there to be as good as we were in 2021. I don’t think Lashlee is miles ahead of Dawson. We won’t be a Top 10 offense but I think Top 30-ish is possible.

I agree Oline better run game will for sure improve because of talent and better players. TE room is just unproven i like the talent there especially if arroyo is healthy.

This offensive system has produced for a while, since Justin Blackmon came on the scene, to Geno Smith and the boys. The question is that all holgorsen or can Dawson replicate it and do it on his own. Is he a good protege, can he overcome the "perception" of Mario Cristobal offensive nerfing abilities or is Mario not good at selecting OC? We will find out soon enough..

I would even say better QB play because if TVD can’t do what he did before under Dawson, than throw him away lol. Also, Dawson is better. Compare his track record and Houston AND WVA and it’s not close (coming in) or even after. Other than Lashlee’s one good year here he ain’t done nothing.
