Fall PractiSe - Monday August 21

Catching the ball is the bare minimum lol are they creating consistent separation and making plays after the catch
Agree...we couldn't even get the bare minimum right for years bro. Add tackling to that "bare minimum" too. I hate to say this comment because it feels like groundhog day, "we are a different animal this year." We truly are. Just different humans in the building from top to bottom. Cheer up brother, brighter days are ahead. GO CANES

Spurrier said it best "only 25% of high quality HS QB's can make the adjustment to D1 speed". So if high quality and elite HS recruits have a high failure rate due to the speed of the D1 game (and the loaded rosters of D1 teams) ... what chance does a project QB have?

I'm old enough to have learned that its never over - until it's over.

Some of the more unlikely folks - have at a critical time - came through and reversed a sure-thing disaster.

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow never arrives. It becomes today - today.

I hope Lincoln Riley wants nothing to do with him 🙄
I'm guessing USC would be a prime destination...although at some point Lincoln is going to have to actually roll with one of his recruited quarterbacks. Otherwise why would any high school quarterback sign there, knowing that the motus operandi is for Lincoln to yearly recruit top transfer players.

his recruited qb just won the heisman lol

Brock Berlin was straight up bad. In his 7 career games vs FSU/UF/VT he had 5 TD's & 17 turnovers. That's as ugly as it gets.

We just had a killer defense that bailed him out. Berlin was great for the last 20 minutes of the Florida game though.

he was more comfortable in the gun.

I agree - Berlin was better out of shotgun. In Berlin's defense he was much better in 2004 and he did have 2 epic comebacks vs Florida & Louisville.

My comp for Berlin would be Malik Rosier - a couple huge comebacks & big games, but it also got really ugly

Are those really his stats lol that’s crazy how that UF game changed everything for him

The stats are right. Even the 2003 Florida game was funny:

Last 20 minutes - Berlin throws 2 TD's & 300 yds and leads us to 28 points. He was on fire.
First 40 minutes - Berlin throws 2 INT's & 1 Fumble (returned for a TD) and "leads" us to 3 points (Sean Taylor's 67 yd KO return is the only reason we got a FG)

Berlin should get all credit in the world for an epic comeback, but he was also the reason we were down so much to begin with.

Kevin Beard's 5 catches for 144 yds & 2 TD's in the last 20 min usually gets lost in the shuffle too.

he was a more capable passer than Malik

Berlin was definitely a better passer than Rosier - but it wasn't by a wide a margin.

Factor in Rosier's running ability (where Berlin had negative rushing yds) and they even out IMO

Here's their stats while at Miami:

Passing:
Berlin
- 406 of 700 - 58.0% - 5,099 yds - 34 TD - 23 INT - 128.6 Rating
Rosier - 337 of 632 - 53.3% - 4,543 yds - 34 TD - 25 INT - 123.5 Rating

Rushing:
Rosier
- 831 yds, 12 TD's
Berlin - -115 yds, 0 TD's
