Official FAll PractiSe #2 - Thursday August 1

Some observations from David Lake:

-Samson going through OL drills with speed. Seems to have an elevated role today
-Dylan Day working with the safeties and looking very smooth in drills
-Chase Smith working with MLB group
-Robert Stafford probably has the best ball skills of his group

Some notes from Canesport:

- With numerous analysts now allowed to help hands-on at practices, it was good to see Mike Rumph working with OJ Frederique after one rep, demonstrating how to perfect his technique.

- the second team OL was really dominant, something we noted was missing a year ago when they were getting shoved all over the place.

-In inside run drill Jordan Lyle in particular looked really explosive and quick through the line. He was very decisive with cuts and it looks like he won’t be held back from seeing the field as a freshman.
Man oh man would it solidify the secondary (at least CB) if Stafford becomes what some of us think he can become this year.

Forgot Rumph was still around. Love that he is coaching on field. While his recruiting left a lot to be desired, nearly all of our DBs got better under him.

I could cry reading that 2nd team OL comment

Our depth has been absolutely horrific. Holy **** were we lucky last year as far as injuries
