Fall Camp 2025 PractiSe 7- Thursday August 7

I don’t think we will have as many explosive chunk plays this year, but we might just end up being more efficient with our OL and run game creating a bunch of 3rd and short. I think we would all like more big bodied downfield threats but sounds like our WRs could be well suited for the intermediate/short catch and run routes where Beck is most efficent. Having Lofton and Toney on the field at the same time should create major mistmatches either for themselves or others.

For me, it all comes down to the LB group and then injuries as to the X factors for this season.

Supposedly Beck is also much quicker to do a check down if the primary reads are not there. Much less likely to get the scrambling, buying time, exciting big plays, but also a lot less likely to see him forcing plays that result in turnovers.
Soo maybe more sacks and 3rd down conversions maybe?

I think our offense will look a lot like Georgia's offense when Beck had talent around him.

1 thing that I don’t think getting enough attention is Becks protection of the ball. 247 said they haven’t seen him make a turnover worthy throw in there viewing portion.ls. Huge *, that’s not full practice. But if he limits turnovers, it’s a major development for Beck. Outside of the injury, the biggest thing with him was the turnovers.

Cam was incredible, but there were games (Cal, VT, etc) where his decisions and turnovers made those games closer than they needed to be.

Hearing how decisive and protectively of the ball Beck has been is a huge deal.
The vast majority of Becks problems are when he is pressured and/or has to move and create. That’s when he forces turnovers. So I don’t think we are really going to see much of how he has improved or not in the turnover department until games start with live contact. When the Dlineman can’t hit you and put their hands in your face/arm to swat balls down, it isn’t the same.

I mean he’s gunna throw some picks like every QB does, but him operating in the pocket and making good/correct decisions and accurate throws is not at all the concern. Everything comes down to how he plays under pressure and secondly how he plays when he has to ‘create’. It’s honestly as simple as that.

Has ANYONE remembered to carry Stanley Shakespeare's **** today!?

Huh!!??

We converted more 3rd downs than any team in the country last year by quite a bit
Meant less conversions wit regards to sacks.. cam bailed out the oline on a bunch of plays people take for granted.. he gets knocked for "hunting big plays" like he was just chucking it down field when we actually barely went deep..

Rewatching games Soo many almost sacks got cleaned up by him.. we get spoiled.. I know the "more efficient" narrative gets thrown around now for #1 offense so I get it..

Yeah you’re spot on there

Beck definitely isn’t a statue especially since so much of it is “feel” anyway but yeah Cam bailed us out many times. **** all of his highlight reel plays were the OL messing up (for the most part)

Not sure how that would look with Beck

If he isn’t a statue, why does he keep snap chatting girls pics of his obelisk?

I took it as potentially less sacks as Beck gets it out quickly to his check down if nothing is open. As good as Ward was at extending plays, he also took some sacks from holding onto the ball too long (there were also a few occasions where he fumbled while he was trying to extend plays).

Please don't take this to mean that I think Beck is going to be better than Ward as even if he ends up with less sacks/interceptions, he likely has a lot less big plays due to buying time.
