Fall Camp 2025 PractiSe 1- July 31st

Until I see different results from last year I’m gonna stick to what I said. Yes I know there were a ton of changes made.
until you see something different? You didn’t see any rb run for 180 last year. You do know only 1 rb rushed for over 100 yards the whole season vs the defense right? That was tuten from vt. No other back went over 100

Agree on that. BUT Friday night in Blacksburg is DIFFERENT. I think the system they run is also a easy system to transition into.. I also think SMU REALLY has y'all fooled on here. I think the only thing that would've made that game slightly closer than it should have been last season is our defense couldn't stop the girls YMCA consistently. At this point SMU doesn't impress me.
Smu lost a ton and not impressed by with what they are replacing it with. They are going to miss Roberts up front. Jhh and Harvey was good for them last year too

I think a lot of you who haven’t watched him much are going to be blown away by how accurate Beck is, especially in the short and intermediate game.

He doesn’t have the overall arm talent that Cam does but he’s every bit as accurate and probably more so to the short and intermediate areas of the field. There are going to be a LOT of passes this year in the exact spot where it’s supposed to be thrown to maximize YAC.

3 picks from Carr today at NDs 1st fall practice

Brock Schott switched to Brock Bowers’ number?

We back?

All of our WRs and TEs should switch jersey numbers to whatever the 2023 UGa team wore.

And by god, NOBODY SHOULD WEAR THE # 15 if they want Beck to throw the ball to them...

My concern with Beck is most closely aligned with what Brock Purdy went through last year: WRs who were 1) not quick enough to create a window or 2) not disciplined enough for precise timing.

I’m not saying the current room can’t be the opposite of those things, I don’t have high confidence that they will until we see it against P5 teams. Beck being a full go now is massive in figuring out who is able to meet those standards as quickly as possible.

Please don’t insert facts. This is CIS where narratives die hard.

UM had a terrible run defense last year because people say so, and that is the end of the story. Carry on.

I dont think it was terrible but I think with our explosive offense people knew they couldnt run to keep up, they were forced to pass because we were putting up points. I doubt we see that again this year so i could see the reverse narrative where people think the run defense is so much worse than last year but it may just be tested more.

With that, it is still silly to say he is going for 180 because no one knows. It is a completely new system with almost entirely different players. No Kiko, no Barrow, no Baron, no alston, no clark, entirely new secondary except OJ and Bain is back but he was out most of the year and even when he came back I dont know if he was fully healthy and messidor is back to DE. Aside from Wes and OJ (assuming they start) I dont know if we have any starter returning at the same position so it is pointless to compare last year's defense to this year.

My concern is a lot more on #2 than #1. At this time last year, Cam had been throwing to X and the rest of the crew for 8 months. How long has Beck been working with Trader in a full-speed setting? A month? It takes time to develop timing, you’re absolutely right.

As far as #1, there are far fewer schematic advantages and pure athleticism advantages in the NFL. What you’re describing happens a lot, if you don’t have elite athletes, you’re blanketed because there’s no tricking anyone.

At this level, schematic advantages are much more prevalent. Defenses aren’t nearly as prepared, there are coverage busts. You just get a lot more guys more open at this level. The windows are way bigger, you hear that all the time. I’m confident we have athletes at that position that are good enough to create separation against the DBs we’ll see for at least most of the schedule. But how in sync will they be? Beck is best when he hits his back foot and the ball comes out. In order for that to happen, everyone has to be on the same part of the same page. We don’t have much time to get there.
