Expectations Before and After 5 games

Went to eat last night with a Suckeyes fan. I told him we snatching up our ‘02/‘03 trophy that’s probably stored at Terry Porter’s house in Stillwater, OK, and yanking the ‘25/‘26 trophy out of Jeremiah’s hands. Then we going to stick Jeremiah on the plane and bring him back to run with Mali next year.

I think people underestimate the difficulty of going undefeated in modern day college football

that, and to be so overconfident in a 8 consecutive weeks stretch of games to end the season (including acc championship game) after Mario's track record of blowing late season games, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume we might lose one to a solid team along the way

Ohio State lost 2 games last year, saban only went undefeated once
 
Losing two ACC games we won’t be in the playoff. So my expectation is 11-1 and in the playoff. Conference champ or not. But this is the year

So true. The best team doesn't always win on game day. Really good teams slip up here and maybe there. Amazing with the ridiculous talent Saban had that he only went undefeated once.

My prediction is one more loss "regular" season, make it to the playoffs and to the final four.

Yank to 25/26 trophy out of Jeremiah’s hands and let him know he doesn’t have to go back to Ohio after losing at Hard Rock. All he needs to do is sneak out post game. Miami will have a car waiting for him. Take him back to mama’s house.

My expectation is to win out to the remainder of the regular season. A couple games may be much closer than we would like. On CIS this means we won by 17 to 21 in the game we should win by 30+.

My hope is the team improves as the season progresses and his plan is best football in the ACC championship game and in the CFP. Mario and the team seemed pretty upset with the fourth-quarter follies at FSU and I expect more focus on the little details preventing Miami from putting teams away. Mainly untimely penalties that put us behind the chains at the most unopportune times.

He went undefeated twice, 2009 and 2020. I get your point, it’s extremely difficult. I choose to focus on this year and not the past. Based on what I’ve seen so far this team can win in different ways and we have a reliable defense. Games have to be played, but I don’t see a team on this schedule that can shut down the run and pass.

Right now I expect to beat Louisville. Nothing more till I finish my turkey on Thanksgiving.
