Forgive my pessimism but I am beginning to see the circling of a Diaz back to Miami train beginning. I have to feel that this would be almost the worst option (other than Rex Ryan or Schiano). Thoughts? Just smells of a patchwork job where much of the staff might be kept, such as Banda, etc.

You have to learn what’s just talk and what’s realistic. Just because people in the athletic department are rooting for Diaz doesn’t mean the BOT is considering him.

You know why “people in the athletic department” are rooting for Diaz? Those people are probably named Banda, Patke, Simpson, etc. Translation: people who would keep their jobs

Contact bot members, reach out and preach on social media.. Diaz isn’t for us... only way to make sure they don’t **** this opportunity up

LOL you can't want richt fired and then get mad when he leaves. anyone with any kind of grip with reality has always known if Richt was gone it would Cristobal , Manny or some up and comer . Guys like Butch , leach , and other old dudes ain't comin here and or would not be asked to come here. Babers is a total pipe dream as he has his freaking dream job right now. So If you wanted Richt gone and then get mad about someone like Manny hired then you just aren't in touch with reality. Manny isn't my choice but it can't be argued he is one of the few elite D coaches in the land. My choice is Kiffin but I very much doubt we would ask him either.

Hiring another coach from Temple will result in a real live rebellion. Mario has shown no ability to build a program Butch has. Mark was the best "good" guy there is and he fell on his face. Even our idiot know that they cannot go that route again. Butch now becomes the most acceptable available since the only other choice is Urban and he is pure scum.

I agree unfortunately.....I see the same lazy short sighted stupidity beginning to emerge.

If we choose Diaz it will shine a white hot spotlight on how very far we have fallen. He has about 17 days of HC experience. In my eyes this will speak volumes of our brand & it’s worth. Look I’m not saying he won’t be great but after 15 years of almost complete ****. Ask yourself this.....can we really afford the gamble?

If they did hire Diaz it would be a waste and absolutely lazy as fvck hire. Show me where hiring a OC/DC that worked for the HC that just got fired/retired with a 7-6 record is a good idea

Butch Davis comes to mind.how'd that work out for us.

Reason for hiring a coach is we aren't satisfied where our team is at.when hiring a new coach you expect to see improvements on how the team progresses .diazs defense has improved everyyear he's been here.our defense is a lot better today than it was I 2016.if no one here can't see that the pass on djaz.we will be making a bad mistake just like the handling of butchs contract in 2000

Reading comprehension 101...... was he the OC/DC of Miami right before he got hired as HC
Yes and no.he was jj dc here in 88 & Dallas dc from88-95 then in 96 our head coach .so basically 101 he left being a dc to coming here for a hc gig.

Manny's never been a Head Coach - best that he get a few years under his belt at another program.

I love Manny, but we've been down this road before.

i hope this game happens ..... UNC with Mack Brown against Temple with Diaz .

think how much fun THAT game would be ! LOL

And what i said was who promoted a OC/DC for the HC that just got fired. He left many years before. YOu dont promote from within when the team is 7-6. And before you say the D blah blah blah overrated
