Yes...but they speak often now.Past tense?
"It may be a small detail, but the fact that Cristobal can dip in and out of Spanish as easily as most Cuban Americans in Miami means something too. When Gonzalez first met Cristobal's predecessor, it was notable to Gonzalez that he didn't speak Spanish. "That was strike one," Gonzalez said."
Who was Mario's predecessor, anyway?
I can't even remember his name and he's been gone less than a year
Manny was speaking Spanish, the Cubans just didn't understand him because he was lisping so hard even actual Spaniards would be clueless.Wait...Manny Diaz doesn't speak Spanish?
How the fuggg is that possible?!
Lol thats how they speak Spanish in SpainI mean how can anyone speak spanish with a lisp
It was meaningful when he was there; it's meaningless to Miami's program.Fantastic read
I’m not going to say that his loss to Utah was meaningless and the questions about him aren’t valid
But the circumstances he had around that game…it’s not surprising how it played out
I think I see what you’re saying and I agreeIt was meaningful when he was there; it's meaningless to Miami's program.
Except everyone apparently failed to know that Mangringo mom is a gringa, which he grew up with and didn't spend a lot of time with his dad. He grew up mostly with his gringa mom and gringo step-dad and then attended Miami Country Day which was a pretty gringo private school. His "Cuban" background was a manufactured story to try and have him relate to the Miami community.I don't doubt it. But...his dad was the friggin' Mayor!
I don’t understand that. My mom was born in a third world country and growing up, it was very important to her that I learned how to speak her languages and not just my dads. You would be surprised to know how many 2nd and 3rd generation cuban-americans don't speak Spanish
As special as the late 90s early 2000 teams were here, the 1980s through the early 90s was just so much more cool as a fan
The program was just pure energy. You either loved or hated us. There was no in-between.
A lot of immigrants want their kids to assimilate and be successful so they try to speak english in the house if they can and then the kids never use it except with Abuelita but that ain’t enoughI don’t understand that. My mom was born in a third world country and growing up, it was very important to her that I learned how to speak her languages and not just my dads.
Past tense?
The Cuban Mark Mangino? As long as we win he can eat the whole menu from Versailles every day for all I care.
