MEGA Everything & Everybody Sucks Megathread for Miserable Mopes & Sorry Slurpers (aka The Basura Bin)

I know some of them were thrown out as jokes, but these are the names you guys have come up with and the position they most recently coached while/when they were OC.

Scott Frost QB/OC
Jason Candle QB/OC
Garrett Riley QB/OC
Warren Ruggiero QB/OC
Phil Longo QB/OC
Bryan Ellis QB/OC
Dan Mullen QB/OC
Scott Satterfield QB/OC
David Yost QB/OC

Not a single name on this list has been an OC without also being QB coach. CAN THEY coach a different position? Of course. But not a single one of them has coached a position other than QB while also acting as OC.

Our OC didn't hire a single guy on his staff. Ponce was hired BEFORE our OC.

I'm not even trying to rage against Ponce. Its just.. having him set in stone limits our options.

Unless of course.. he's our next OC.

Riley from TCU for sure
Longo if he wants a pay raise

If you strike out there I’d just go young with someone from the Mcvay tree

I'll do it. I run goal line or 5 wide . Not complicated you just can't stop it. No subs same personal . Don't need a punter or a kicker 4 downs all day.

In no particular order:

College:
Jason Candle or Andrew Sowder
Warren Ruggiero
Garret Riley

A number of Quality aggressive up-tempo offensive minds settled into jobs in last year‘s cycle. This. Year will depend on the pull/pry. Meaning, who can be pulled away from solid jobs. The only lights out offensive mind that comes to mind right now that would be readily available is Scott Fost. He’s still young, hungry and probably looking to redeem himself after the NEB disaster (which most people predicted and a lot of folks strongly advised him to not take that job. His family guilted and pulled him into a horrific fit for him). I’m a firm believer in Frost (if he returns to being himself and coaching his style of ball)

Leach moves to 9-4 against Texas A&M. In all of those meetings he coached at a school with fewer resources and less talent.

I read an article awhile back where it said Leach has almost 5x more wins over more talented programs (according to the 247 rankings) than the #2 guy on the list, Whittingham. So I have a feeling he'd find ways to get a **** of a lot more production out the guys you think are scrubs.
The thing about Leach is he doesn't **** around. He doesn't coddle anyone. He weeds out the malcontents and cancers quick. All the Mario the Gawd fanboys were sold on some hor**** tough guy talk and presumed recruiting prowess hahaha.

I can’t believe we payed all that, just to end up with Gattis 😂

Only at Miami.
When is the last time Miami payed coordinators big salaries to entice guys with strong resumes?

Gattis has coached at Penn State, Alabama, Michigan, and won the award for best coordinator in the country.

YES HE HAS SUCKED SO FAR. PROBABLY WAS A BAD HIRE.

But this is not classic Miami. This is actually progress lol. Sometimes you do the right thing and the result doesn’t work out. That’s fine, at least now we’re paying enough to entice other guys who are proven to come and work here

I could see that.

But that also means that any hypothetical OC wouldn't be hiring any members of his staff.. again. He wouldn't be firing any of the staff that saw his predecessor run out of town. AND to top it all off he'd have to split OC duties with one of those guys!

That's not exactly the most appealing situation.

Same guy would be doing the hiring though.
Yep, going to be hard to get excited, honestly. We'll get a rumor of a name or two we actually like. It likely will be two names that are really not under consideration. The real list of people Mario is targeting will be a bunch of slow paced, complex offensive guys that fit his offensive philosophy. They may be better than Gattis, not saying much, but they'll still not be what we need in this day and age.

I'd love for Mario to finally change who he is and prove me wrong, but his moves at FIU, Oregon, and here with the hiring of Gattis show who he is.

You guys might laugh at me, but if I was Mario I’d hire @Liberty City El and let him put together a list of top established and up and coming OC’s that run high powered offenses.

Mario needs to learn to get out of his own way, and let people who are gifted at things that he’s not good at help him to get this program going in the right direction.

You're a funny guy for even suggesting that nonsense.

We can't afford @Liberty City El!!!
