Everyone Just Needs To Relax

The only way for us to get through it is to keep starting more and more threads on the same topics. It is very therapeutic. i apologize for replaying in this thread instead of starting a new one. I'm not off to a good start. Please help.

Sounds like the Canes world is falling apart right now according to most threads. I am quite sure you guys remember the regime of the past few years right? Remember the atrocious defenses? I also remember that neither Grace nor Muhammad set the world on fire last year. Remember how we used to fall apart in the second half of games? Well guess what? I am going to play captain obvious here. 1) We now have a new headcoach that understands how to coach, 2) We have the best DL coach in the land and pretty much your front 8 is interchangeable, 3) We have a Defensive Coordinator that believes in attacking and putting pressure on the offense, 4) We have a group of talented LBs, albeit freshmen, that know how to play, 5) We now have a better conditioned team both mentally and physically, 6) We have the best QB in the land, bar none!. The above formula to me translates into a team that will now have a much better chance to win games than past teams, and even as crappy as we were last year, we still won 8 games!! It's going to be a fun season people. Enjoy the ride!!

Take off the green and orange colored glasses before you tell other people to calm down.

Why don't you tell me that last NCAA team to start 3 freshman linebackers who won even 8 games.

And you talking about on a team who played as miserable on defense as we did last year.

Seriously WTF? If you put 3 first round draft picks back there they would still struggle on the field all together as freshman.

We are doomed!!! Why even play. Our 85 players left are not worth a ****.

No your wrong we will go undefeated next year, right?

The point is people have a reason to worry. You can base that educated opinion on college football history. Or you can ignore it and then be shocked and start flying banners. It's really up to you but I aint going to come on here and tell you its not an issue because of some pom pom shakers.

Grace was a stud for us. Let's not bash that guy on his way out the door. I'd love to have him on the team this season.

No one is bashing him or any other player bro. I like him as a person and respect all Canes players regardless but I have very high standards as well. I want to see more LBs TFL's and stops for short gains. I did not see that last year from any of our LBs. I feel that our current crop of LB's are more athletic and have a better chance to accomplish this. If you were to look at all of our LB stops last year, I guarantee you that most were done after positive gains by the opposing offense. Does FSU, NC, Clemson, etc., ring a bell?

We are going to exceed expectations this year. It will be a fun season which I am looking forward to!

We are going to be a **** of a lot better than last year. Wins and losses, I have no idea. It will be fun to watch a well coached team for once. If that worries you then it is what it is.

We will be okay.

Your right we will be OK. That sums it up perfectly, the problem is I am tired of being OK. If we are going to ride this recruiting momentum into next year this team needs to win and any Miami team that has ever won, won because they had depth and 1st and 2nd round upper classman everywhere. Starting 3 freshman linebackers is the opposite of that.

But the point is.. to come on here and act like this is no big deal is redick.

We should be cautiously optimistic and the sky is never falling before the first game.

There's no way to put a positive spin on losing these two guys. Both were nfl draft picks and poised to have big years finally playing in a real defense.

The fact that we are so thin at lb only compounds the problem. Playing 3 true fr is a recipe for disaster and there is virtually no chance that all 3 make it through the whole season without getting hurt

Hate losing them both but having said that, lets move on. I for one am so excited for Saturday night to get here. This is the first time in years that I'm not going into the season thinking, here we go again. I know we may lose a game or two (hope not) but ****, I'll even take those as long as we can see the program finally going in the right direction. So pumped for the years to come.

No losses are fun to watch. So if its going to be fun and we are going to be a lot better than last year then you better queue up at the min 10 wins and right now we are likely underdogs in 4 to 5 games. You can be straight and still be excited for the season. But when you set expectations based on nothing more than your emotions then ...

If you believe we can, you're right. If you believe we can't, you are also right. My point is that we have many coaches, players and fans that believe that we can. No emotions or pretentions here. What we have seen since Spring ball is for real and we will see where that takes us. No predictions here either.

How productive were selfish players that put themselves ahead of their team going to be anyways? Team players? Nah! This is what is left from the Gorlden and Doritos legacy, ENTITLEMENT!

All i can say is we're extremely fortunate all 3 of the talented newcomers at linebacker were able to come in early and participate in spring ball, which to me makes them more like redshirt freshmen than true freshmen. That is huge and helps me feel more hopeful about the LB situation. Especially with what should be basically a couple exhibition games to start the season in order for them to gain more experience and confidence for what's to come in October.

Ok sucks, I want to win the coastal or the university can **** off.

OK you got me. We are going to lose all of our games and we are all going to die!! Quit watching the Weather Channel bro. Our LB's as young as they are a **** of a lot better than our LB's were last year plus they will have a DL giving opposing QB's 1-2 seconds to make a play and will be a **** of a lot better coached. I realize that we are still in a state of shock from the past four years but the games we will be watching will be totally differently defensively. No more DL two gaps. No more 15 yards off opposing WR's, no more read and react, no more being afraid of giving up a big play. Like coach Kool says, meet me at the QB!!! Balls out Canes!!!!!

There aint any

Let's suppose you are right and there have never been any, which I seriously doubt unless you spend all day looking though stats, which I don't doubt, I guess because it may not have happened previously, I guess it never will right? Nothing else in the defense matters except these 2-3 LB's right? Forget about your DL which may be one of the best in NCAA this year. Forget about the coaching and schemes and also forget about the talent and maturity of these LBs which have been in our system for now almost 9 months. Naw, none of that matters! I love your fatalistic attitude... Bring Gorlden and Dorito back boys. They have the answers!!

Since 85% of our country is made up of followers, 5% of true leaders and 10% of people which should get the **** out of the way, I changed my mind now boys and joined you followers. I think we will go 0-12 this year. Time to pack it in boys!!

What channel is Cantore on?

Balls out CANES!!

I just love Genghis Kahn. He was the ultimate bad *** warrior. He didn't care who his army fought, how big or small they were, how impossible the tasked seemed, being outnumbered or not, and his orders to his enemy were always,"Surrender or you will all die", and he kept his word. Dude almost conquered the world! This team reminds me a lot of Genghis Kahn. Sorry for this may be a little over your heads. Fight on Canes!!... Wondered if they discouraged bullying back then? Nah don't think so.
