I find it strange that we finally get a Miami quality QB who a NC could be built upon with decent coaching and people want an offense he can't play in. People who want this read option spreads should love Al and never complain about his defense. We took over college football with pro style offense and aggressive speed based defense. Al insist on changing the defense and the spread read option lovers want to change the offense.

Let Butch come back and restock our team with Miami type players. Our old defense, properly coached, will destroy today's version of the option just like it did before. And I can't think of any defense that could handle the hurry-up offense better than our old one. We played base almost all the time and dared teams to be it. That takes lack on needing a bunch of calls from the sideline takes takes the biggest advantage away from the hurry up.
