Ever stop and think maybe...

With the right coaches, Miami would be a force nationally within 2-3 years. We have a huge built-in advantage with such fertile recruiting grounds in South Florida.

CMR needs to hire an OC, get a new coach for Special Teams, recruit a top flight punter and hire a new OL coach. He also needs to pick it up in the recruiting department. If he does all of that extremely well, he can get us into the CFB Playoff picture within 2-3 years. If he doesn't do all of those things, his tenure at Miami will most likely end in a few years (unless the 2018 class stays together & kicks *** as they mature).

Have we even stopped to think that maybe none of these names we keep pitching for OC want the job? Likely that AD/Richt haven't started the process but also possible that the exploratory inquires have bore zero fruit. Maybe these cats dont want to work under Richt. The big names at least. Dillingham is the only name mentioned I think is plausible so far. So many great names with great resumes thrown around but I don't think any of them are even an option.

FACT.

Sadly, even if Richt was considering it...he is too nice to reach out until football season is loooong over.

Richt wants to get fired and walk off into retired life with a big payoff ...
He has no intention of completing his contract... can we call his bluff and force his retirement?
maybe work out a settlement..

The problem is our AD already thinks he has a big name (and big game) coach. He doesn’t.

A larger problem is Frenk and BOT apparantly are content with James as AD.

Miami needs a ruthless, results driven personality in that role.

Honestly, this is probably the case.

The game's passed Miami by and our administration is not interested in catching up.
Serious question: were you saying this last year when we were 10-0 with Malik Rosier? Did you say this back in '97? I've been around long enough to know that we unequivocally will be back and I hate seeing people question it. Same goes for some other programs that are currently down: USC, Nebraska, Tennessee, etc. The game is cyclical, Alabama won't reign supreme forever, either.

Yea Ive accepted that its over and my team is just who they are and probably will always be this way. Its over and alot of fans dont realize it
It could very well be over, but it doesn’t have to be. If the admin ever accidentally stumbles into the right guy, we can be Miami again. The talent is here.

His ego is too big to want to be fired. Just like it’s too big to admit his O isn’t working.

I have feeling that if Mullen had got the job first time around, he would have used it as a springboard to another SEC job. So ... things might've worked out the same for him (altho maybe not at UF). Doubt he saw UM as a destination job. Schnelly didn't, nor did JJ or Erickson.

I could see him leaving Miami for UF at the first opportunity.

IF no changes are made this offseason, I’m ready to proclaim Richt as our offense’s Al Golden.

Clearly not working, not taking advantage of what resources we have (SF speed), and not accepting responsibility for it.

why would you not want to work under Richt? He's fiercely loyal to assistants and a good man. You know he is locked into a contract for next few years. Still great place to work in terms of weather, no state taxes, dynamic metropolitan city, great recruiting base, etc.

Maybe those other names do not want to make lateral moves, or just fishing for better deals on current contracts. I agree a guy like Dillingham is feasible. A young talented guy who is hungry and wanting to prove his mettle on a larger stage. What's wrong with that?

The fact that Richt is still sending Searels and his son out on recruiting trips tells me everything I need to know about his mentality and his ability to recognize flaws. The product that Searels put out on the field this year was downright embarrassing. To top it off, he has two recruits committed who are admitted Gator fans growing up and both are OVing to UF this weekend. So after the **** job he has done, he also stands to not add a single reinforcement to that unit. Its absolutely unbelievable that he still has a job. And Jon swung and missed on MJJr who was literally his only recruit. The fact they can’t even convince Max to come here speak volumes as well. Sapp said it best. The U is dead under Mark Richt. It makes me sick.

Nothing is wrong with that my only point I was making is people act like Richt is loosing the off-season because Kingsbury wont be our OC. Maybe he doesnt want to be our OC.

The only thing that would turn away potential big name coordinators is money. If the admins are willing to pony up the cash, they can pick their man.

Agree it will be by mistake like what happened to uf. Chip would of ben a disaster with them imo and Mullen fell right into there lap. The talent up front for us isnt there yet and we r losing too many savages imo.

Facts

I think they have fallen behind way too much to catch up. SEC bama have too uch momentum and pretty much indoctrinated this generation n future generations even before bamas run.

Again, this fan base making it a Richt thing—instead of a University of Miami thing.

News flash; this is a private school that doesn't offer the same benefits of big money state schools—and all those old, unique, idiosyncratic, U-fueled traits that allowed Miami to become "The U"—that's not how college football works anymore.

When has Miami ever attracted big name, big money head coaches—OR assistants? Never. It's always been about up-and-comers at both positions. Until Richt, UM never pulled in established names.

The implications that coaches across the nation would have some issue working with an established coach like Richt is laughable.
