Texas A&M always overspends and underperforms and they have nothing at WR after their best WR from last season transferred to Georgia. If Hugh Freeze doesn't get Auburn to 8 or 9 wins he's fired. Those are the two schools who signed portal WRs we went after. Again, would you have preferred those portal WRs over the portal DBs and portal Safety we got?

I absolutely would spend top dollar on top HS WRs. Sure the portal volume (at least in Winter) is decent at WR. We've also struck out harder at Portal WR than any other position on the entire roster. I'd actually say that our miss on portal WR this offseason was larger than DB last offseason. The only GOOD news regarding WR is we actually have recruited HS WR pretty well. We just have missed out on the truly elite targets. Which I am not someone that think you need to land a 5star WR every year. But you gotta treat it like OT where we get one every 2-3 years at least. DLine I think we DO NEED a 5star type lineman (DT or EDGE or preferably BOTH) YEARLY.

And, with all due respect you'd be wrong to spend your money in such a way. OL and DL are premium position groups. WR isn't. WRs are plentiful. I live in Louisiana. There are literally too many good WRs in-state for LSU to take on an annual basis. And, this is a small state.

I can say the same about Mississippi. Kiffin isn't tripping if Keys leaves Mississippi. Not that Keys isn't good but Kiffin knows he can get WRs out of Mississippi and neighboring Louisiana via high school and the portal. I know WRs are plentiful in Florida.

You're straight 100% wrong to even think WR is not a premium position. Like just so clearly wrong its not even up for debate.

WRs are plentiful in Florida... How many florida WRs do we have committed or likely to sign this year?
Yes that worked pretty well last 2 years with Trader, Moore, Toney... Yet you still go after the top of the line guys.

I think we need to do what we need to do to get better at WR and land clear difference makers. It doesn’t matter what I think. Staff does and thinks a lot of **** that I don’t agree with.

I’m not saying you don’t go after those guys. But, good WRs aside from a generational WR like Jeremiah Smith are readily available.
