ESPN signing day coverage at the U

Awesome. I remember last year at FSU, Jimbo not commenting on Thomas because of a fax snafu. Jimbo looked nervous, and for a few minutes I thought we had Thomas. But in somewhat of a happy ending the Criminoles didn't get him either. Get a couple big live commitments will be awesome.

What alternate reality are you in, where FSU didn't get Thomas?

If JC waits until signing day to flip then he will be one announcing for us. I was witness to a phone conversation Tuesday, that unless I'm being completely bs'd confirmed he was coming to Miami. And that he had confirmed his commitment with coach D the night before. Think JC has said all along he would wait till NSD to make a final decision though, atleast publicly.

That said, please enlighten us all on this phone conversation you witnessed and who it involved.

It's a good thing... They are not coming here to throw **** against the wall to see if it sticks! They are in the know...!!! :-)

Is this the list of recruits deciding on NSD that we have a chance at landing:

WR/DB: JC Jackson

DT: T. Valentine

Is there anyone else?
Tavon Ross

Is he deciding on NSD or is he deciding after all his visits?

Tavon Ross, Treon Harris, L. Gaillard, I. Ford and B. Lenius are all visiting over the next 2 weeks. I just figured they would decide before NSD or reconfirm their commitment.

I have no idea when they are going to decide on their commitment, I was just saying we have a chance to land him sometime on/ before NSD.

The conversation started with "is JC coming to the U?" and "I won't tell anyone". But this was a former co-worker of mine that has personal ties to a player on our current roster. So everytime I see him I pick his brain about the team and what he had heard. I asked about JC and when I didn't believe him that JC was coming he made a call.

finishing off with JC and Valentine would cap off an excellent class that would be complete except for a lack of a 2nd RB. But, more importantly, we have our QB of the future and our front 7 would be completely replenished. The pieces should be there to turn around the defense (I know what you're thinking, but lets leave him out of this for now...)

We are sitting at 26 right now. How many spots do we have left to fill? I have heard anywhere from 2 to 5. What is the number?

School
Alabama
Auburn
Florida State
LSU
Miami
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Penn State
Tennessee
Texas
Texas A&M

These is pretty good company for us and I love the exposure. hey we may only get 2 signings but as i fan i want to see every moment of what is going on.

It's extremely wishful thinking to be hoping for both Valentine and JC (I'm guilty of it, too). But that 2nd RB you're hoping for might end up being this beast if he picks us instead of Mizzou and Georgia:

Valentine is the key. Losing JC or not getting a second RB will suck, but next years class is the strongest we've seen at DB in a long time and it also has elite RB talent in Cronkrite, Scarlett, Patrick, ...and maybe Mark Walton. But a talent at DT like Valentine doesn't come through SFL too often...MAYBE once every 10 years

I completely expect everyone to think I'm making the **** up, I would do the same. Debated on whether or not to post here about it as soon as it happened. And if he wouldn't have told dude "I won't tell anyone" I would post exact details. All I know is if the info I received was incorrect then **** me on believing anything anyone says until the papers are signed.

so you got this info from a former co-worker of yours, that has "ties" to a player on JC's team.... ?

agreed. losing Valentine pushes me to class failure. DT is the biggest need in the class as we have whiffed there for what seems to be about a decade. Wyche and Heurtelou are nice, but they make up for misses in previous classes. We have to stop this vicious cycle of missing on big time DT prospects, signing a couple of scrubs and then trying to patch up the next year with unreliable JuCos who struggle to get thru UM admissions. If we miss Valentine, that puts our 2 year haul at Moten, Jenkins and (crickets). That is not going to win you many football games. Valentine is the single most important recruit in this class IMO

Reading comprehension is a ************ I said on "our current roster" as in Miami." And this former co-worker of mine still works in the same field but with a different company so we cross paths from time to time. There isn't a lot of players on our roster from swfla, isn't hard to put 2 and 2 together to find out who he is close with on the team. And when I say close I mean our player has a daughter with my former co-workers daughter.
