We'll find out what kind of coach Smart is starting this year and the next...Richt left that team with a number 1 cruting class...

Defense will be the key to Miami coming back. They have to get the DL, especially DT's they've been missing on for years. Diaz playing an aggressive defense, showcasing the DL, instead of having them play pattycake with the OL, will be huge. The talent is there right now to be much improved, with a different scheme, over last year, but they need to get the elite kids if they want to climb up and over Clemson and FSU. Richt isn't stupid, and I also think he got away from what made him successful at UGA, and he's ready to fix it. What Miami lacks in facilities/stadium, is more than made up for with the built in recruiting advantage.

. Also, a much improved OL would help sustain more drives against elite defensive fronts. When you go 3 and out or have penalties consistently kill drives it puts the entire D in a tough situation.
 
Miami has a lot of returning talent and a coaching staff far superior to last year's team. Barring a rash of catastrophic injuries the Canes should win 10 games. I think they beat FSU and UNC at home. ND and VT will be tough road games

Clemson wins @ FSU? I know Clemsons O will be good the D is its weakness only returning 3 starters. I'm picking FSU in that one. I think we beat FSU then face them again ACC Championship.
 
Have these guys watched the Miami/FSU game the last couple years?

Clemson had their best team in forever last year and we were done when that game was played.

We *should* have beaten FSU the last two years.

Once that happens, Miami immediately enters the FSU and Clemson weight class.

I think the OL is more important. We need to keep Brad upright.

Much more talent on the DL than the OL.

The talent is there but it's unproven. What I like is that there are multiple talented guys at each position. If Chad Thomas doesn't take the next step, the guys behind him will.

Absolutely bro! Top recruits are the key! You are dead on.... top recruits win! A couple of my favorite examples are Shannon and his #1 class, and Golden's teams when ever pitted against lesser programs with no top recruits.

I was calculating Clemson's only loss as a road game at FSU. Miami's two losses are road games ND and VT. FSU will lose other games to give Clemson the ACC Atlantic.

VT is not good. They need a qb, has to replace 3 veteran starters on the d-line, and the secondary isn't as talented as it once was.

oh yea...they're gonna be relevant again in a couple years...Fuente found dalton, Boykin, and Lynch so I think he'll find a QB
