ESPN : Murder at the U 🤮

I have a ball from 2004 and Bryan Pata is on it. And it’s a funny feeling when i look at it. But also Sean Taylor and Devin Hester are on it and it still feels weird. Go canes

We might not like it, but it happened, and they did actually help uncover the killer we all wanted to know, hopefully to get justice for the Pata family.

Not surprised that it turned into a series

might be unpopular, but I don't blame them.

eventually it was going to happen. **** that murdering psychopath.

Very fair.

RIP Bryan and I hope the family gets justice and finds peace.

this was before my time as a canes fan. While I find it disrespectful to profit off Pata’s murder, I see the appeal of it as a topic. What I find atrocious is the ******* name of this charade as well as the timing. Dropping this right after our run, and inferring that the horrific act happened on campus and is reflective of “The U” is unacceptable. Do better ESPN, do better, but there is a reason throughout my life you have continued to find a way to get worse.

Sad that I had to wonder for sec.. which one (Barnes or Pata).

But re: Rashaun Jones, Coker was so bad at recruiting he had to go after some very quesitonable character guys like Jones.. I'm not pinning this on Coker, but we definitely brought in guys that Butch would not have, and not just from a talent perspective.
I spent the night in Mahoney at my friend’s dorm around the time of Barnes death. The next morning was open house for new students. I saw security evolve on campus since that night.

Can hate ESPN, but projects like this require many months & a lot money to produce. Timing looks bad. Again, these projects are planned well in advance & slotted accordingly. No doubt ESPN producers & executives were delighted the last few months watching the revival of the Miami program.

The story itself is an incredible mystery that sadly dragged on for years. And, like it or not, the U fascinates, intrigues & attracts eyeballs - which is why ESPN execs green light a project like this.

Could rightly argue bad **** happens on every campus & within many teams & programs . . . UGA player killed in drunk/speeding crash after natty, UGA player shoots & kills store clerk, Alabama basketball player charged in murder, Baylor hoopster kills teammate, Syracuse coach runs over pedestrian, UAB player kills teammate, Penn State mess, etc. Go online & this **** is sadly almost routine.

Just when Miami is connected it plays to the stereotype & gets played up, taken advantage of.

When is the ESPN documentary coming out on the University of Florida knowingly letting a serial killer murder people and run wild in Gainesville?

I mean, it’s got everything that ESPN loves: *** ***, *********ing in team meetings, and people getting shot in the head in the street… sounds like a rating winner to me.
