ESPN Miami Commits Update

Reading through ESPN's little description of who they think we will still go after, they mention Patrick Porter CB from Alabama. Are we pursuing this kid? Havent seen anything mentioned here.

Can anyone explain why Valentine keeps declining? It better not be because of a spanish class!

Somebody please explain to me how Berrios,Gray,Jackson,Smith,Young are not top 300 material?

Out of all the "recruiting sites" I would say 247sports is the best if you had to choose one. Wouldnt even pay attention to scout or ESPN as far as player rankings/grades go.

And that's what baffles me... With all the resources ESPN has.. they should out do all recruiting sites when it comes to evaluations and im not being biased because their canes from alot of the highlights and film i watched on their website those guys honestly deserve to be in the top 300

I say leave the kid at safety... he is a playmaker and very quick... he has the body type and can be ST esk.... he will dislodge the ball from opposing WR and RB... especially coming in full speed ahead...

When he beats FSU all by himself, then he can be called ST-esque

While there likely will never be another ST, I understand what the OP was trying to say. Not that he'll be at the level or have the impact of Taylor, but that he can be one of those rare safeties that have the size and strength of a linebacker while still having the speed and agility needed to play safety.

Valentine moved up 2 spots was #12 dt and is now 10th. Berrios was 80 ovr and #55 wr and is now 81 ovr #45 wr. Kc #4ot was #5,darling #9ot was #10,gibbons #17ot was #18, rosier #42qb was #43, Langham #36wr was #40. They have young a 70 overall that's really low.

VALENTINE fell out the ESPN 150 him & Clark both fell... Clark fell drastically rightfully so he hasnt performed to his potential .. Valentine has been dominating as he should... True he might of rose as a prospect for DT's but he is a top 150 prospect top 75 if you ask me and i would have that same opinion if he wasnt a cane... Probably be #3 behind brown & hand if he was on LSU lol

It doesn't make any sense to put Owens in their top 300 but still list him as a safety. He's not much of a prospect at safety, he's a helluva prospect at linebacker. If they are evaluating him at safety, what exactly has happened this season to improve their perception of him?

Unless you are MiaCen, BTW, or University School most of the kids in any top 100 list play bad comp. They probably only play one or two big games on they schedule. The rest are scrubs that they run over. Bishop Gorman is a great example of school that had a one game season when they played BTW. They are gonna CRUISE to the state title.

Point being, they cant blame Valentine for the comp. If he dominates, he dominates.

he doesnt even have an offer..dont ever look into what its written on that section...they had Valentine as a possible Miami commit 2 months after he committed to us

Porter actually does have a UM offer just he has no chance to come here because it seems UM moved on months ago so yes ESPN doesn't know ****

My bad im thinking of Stephen Roberts you're right

No. 287 Darrion Owens (Orange Park, Fla./Oakleaf), OLB
The 6-3, 220-pound Owens has transitioned from safety to outside linebacker as a senior without skipping a beat. Long, rangy and with edge-rush ability, the Miami commit is a top senior riser.

Darrion Owens is going to be what Ray Ray Armstrong should have been during his tenure at Miami. Good eye for this guys potential early on; smack in the middle of UF & FSU country.

Similar to us getting in early on Kaaya, in the middle of USC & UCLA's territoty.

can he play saftey OLB I think he could get in the 2 deep at saftey this kid is a stud

No. Kids a LB all the way don't waste his time or ours.. Hopefully we can shirt mans really get him on a great track

No way that dude is shirting. Definitely will be useful on ST and if Perryman bolts, will probably have a say about being second string at OLB

Owens will impress. I see him being the Figatron of his class. Although, he is not "under the radar" to us on this site.
