ESPN has Canes at #8 for 2026

No, it seems they factor in Mensah being in Miami
Then that's insane. We are undefeated with him at QB this year. No knock on Beck, but let's be real. When you have to account for a true threat at QB, everything else falls into place a lot easier.

It's terrible writing. No way can we determine if they do or do not consider Mensah for the Canes lol. Also, they believe Toure will be leaving as well. I expect Miami to be closer to top 5 once we get to fall edition of predictions.

Whatever.

Shed dead weight, get our QB1 situation nailed down, develop athletes where it makes sense to do so, fill gaps with Tportal, get back to the CFP and win it this next time.

Mario has shown YoY growth himself and has come a long way since onboarding. I expect he will learn from this season and put forth an excellent team each year. We aren't far off fellas. We are a smarter and talented quarterback and just a few other pieces away from standing on the apex of the mountain. Stings today but the future is bright.

Have to get that SEC suck fest started early for 2026.

That’s a conference in decline if I ever saw one.

Small markets and NIL mix like two ****s and no *****, they find themselves in serious ****.

Good, hopefully it fuels them to go harder next yr. ND will be our only tough opponent, our main opponent is ourselves. Clean up the penalties and stupid stuff we'll be back. We'll likely be favored against everyone we play outside ND.

Honestly what matters more is where our opponents are ranked. You know. For potential good losses and all

#8 rating? That's not taking Mensah into account.

Also, I think we positioned ourselves much stronger for being absorbed into the SEC/B1G if/when realignment happens again. Our resume/business case just improved greatly!

How are we looking at LB next year? I've seen that Toure possibly has another year? We're going to need the LBs to step up in a major way in run D with Bain and Mesidor leaving, they were elite defending the run in a way we can't expect our next two starting DEs to replicate.

We are losing

Starting QB
2 starting WRs
4 OL
Two best edges in college football
1 good DT
1 (maybe 2) starting LBers
Best nickel in CFB
1 safety
K

The fact we are top 8 means they respect the reload. But we lose a lot. Be objective

Mensah
2 portal receivers already gotten
OL won't be an issue
Damon Wilson hopefully, everyone else keeps progressing
Blay? Eh
I guess
Big loss
Kicker already replaced

TrumpyCane thinks we should have a good/great team next year

It’s 2026 and Miami fans still complain about lack of media support. It’s not happening. We are going to have to do it the hard way.

I agree. I think we are a top 10 team. They will always rank returning production above all. We will have a step back back, on paper, on both lines. Up to us to not make it a real step back. That’s what great programs do and I think we are there now
