Anyway, his comments hold weight because he knows what its supposed to look like but I have been surprised by offseason dialogue of Mensah and really only media who gave him respect was David Hale of espn but he is ACC guy.. I think many will be surprised by what we do on offense this coming season..

The problem is too many people fail to watch actual plays. It is what it is. A lot of opinions are based on...feelings and leaps of conclusion. Watch the motherf'in games. No, not the highlights. The plays. All of em. If you do and you know a little bit about what's going on in the game, it's not that complicated.

So far, he's literally just been Anthony Richardson. He's not worth the insane NIL money Michigan is giving him.

Give me a QB like Mensah with proven production over measurements and tantalizing potential.

Their OC is thought of positively and many gave the freshman mulligan but that spring game was rough.. lets see what they do but I even saw rumors of already plott9ing on dampier to go to mich for '27

His throwing motion was terrible last season. He has the same 3/4 motion as Mateer. Some throws look awesome but he has no touch and can’t drop the ball in the bucket with that motion. I don’t know if they have changed his motion or not but it will always lead to inconsistency.

I get it. But I guess I'm left asking why now? Like wasn't he a 5 star so called can't miss qb? THAT leads me back to my Canes. I am darn glad we have Mario Cristobal and our OC.

Someone compared Underwood to Anthony Richardson. I would argue Underwood is better, but part of being a 5 star is for the same reason; size and athleticism. People see a QB who is listed at 6’4” and 228 who is also fast and can throw the ball 60-70 yards and he is instantly a 5 star. But is he accurate, and how fast does he process the game? What is his work ethic and love of the game? Look at Jaden Rashada. Also a 5 star but a bust by any definition.

I believe, and hope that our staff is able to distinguish between 5 star athleticism, and 5 star talent, which includes all the attributes I listed. College football and basketball are littered with 5 star athletes who never became 5 star players. And in the NIL world, being able to distinguish between the 5 stars can be the difference between playoffs and a coach being fired for blowing an NIL budget on Jaden Rashada.

Two big time names, turn out to be big time busts IMHO. This makes me respect CMC and his operation even more. Plus, CMC trusted Tyler VanDyke for years before he pulled the plug on him only after he couldn't perform anymore. RESPECT.
