I’m no expert. McFarland just stands out on tape. I see Tyrek Hill lite. Elite speed, quickness, hands, tough to bring down. 4.3 40 and you see it on the tape.

McFarland likely has a sky high price tag, he is an elite talent IMO. I’m skeptical we’d pay it with the numbers we already have in that room + everyone is eligible to come back besides Barkate. Would love to add him though, obviously.

Yeah, I'd love to get him. He just jumps out on tape. IMO in the same talent class as Linnear and Sears (if you consider him a WR). But no matter how much money we (or any team) have, there is still a limit and you have to allocate wisely.

Might depend on how many we think we'll lose after this season. If we think we'll have significant attrition, then I'm all for trying to get him.

Should be priority and if you going to spend big it’s need to be 6ft 3 smith type . Now after a year and they show out like Toney they need to be paid . I like our staffs strategy inside out dominate

Not arguing just talking . I’m open to learn about every target we’re after and why . I believe upshaw from last year will shine this year if he comes back healthy . That kid is a baller and attacks the ball . Toney and upshaw was way under rated imo coming out of highschool . Toney should have been a high five star top
3 wr and upshaw high 4 and would have started on most teams last year . I’m curious to see if Dawson can get all a package together to put all that speed oh the field at once . We have like 4 speedsters at wr this year .

I meant I wasn’t disagreeing with you that Linnear is a 5 start talent and that he was the best WR at northwestern last year.

Hopefully we land both

Yeah and it wouldn't be surprising to have Evans, Spafford, and Parris all Redshirt this year.

I think Ultimately the general plan needs to be A) Secure Lennear and B) Do everything possible to land Brysen Wright in 2028.

So in this class I'd see Lennear being the top guy, and then getting two guys maybe in the 150-250 type range. I'd probably go Jaden Upshaw or Tre Moore. And we have Stevens committed who I assume will stick unless we push out... And then in 28 you're going all out for Wright and another 2-3 guys.

So that in 2028 season we would expect something like:
X: Josh Moore / Brysen Wright / Milan Paris
Slot: Daylyn Upshaw / Vance Spafford / Ah'Mari Stevens
Z: Soumourian Wingo / Nick Lennear / Tyran Evans / 3rd 2027 Recruit (maybe Jaden Upshaw or Tre Moore ?)

But I would say if we landed Lennear and McFarland... 2 Wrs might be enough in this class tbh.
