Eric Kumah (VT) in the Portal

In terms of fundamentals, Vtech seems like one of the worst jobs out there: no natural recruiting base, rural campus with no close airport or metropolitan area, and limited booster support and money (yeah, the fans are diehard, but who is writing the big checks?). Memphis is almost a better job in those senses.

As for transfers at WR, TE, CB, etc.., we should only consider people with elite speed, IMO. 6'2" receivers or 225 lb tight ends are easy enough to come by. I want game changers in the skill positions.

Our WR roster is too deep already to take on another one. Because WR roster is so deep is why Ezzard has entered his name into the portal. Plus Payton is coming in and he is going to see the field he is to good to seat.
the wr room is loaded. so is rb. skill positions on offense aren't an issue for Miami. te depth might be but if all stay healthy that's 5 deep there.

Irvin sucks, Polendey probably sucks too, Hodges isn't big enough to be a true tight end...more of an h-back/jumbo slot.

I don't know irving is ok not great but as a 3rd te is serviceable. poledney is a blocking te mostly. but nfl teams and everyone uses those guys. poledney is a guy u want on 1st and goal at the 5

The same reason why we bringin in tommy Kennedy so we not relying on George brown Zalonte Hillary Zach dykstra Herbet or Campbell before they are ready. Same reason why we bringing in a grad transfer DT

Makes no difference. With or without Kennedy, we're still an injury or two away from a rs-freshman playing major minutes. Also, I don't know why you brought Brown into the conversation. He's a rs-senior, has nothing to do with the point I'm making. Hillary, Dyksrta, Herbert and Gaynor have all been here at least 5 semesters. We SHOULD be expected to rely on them to play major minutes at a high level (coaching deficiencies notwithstanding) by now. That's all beside the point. Players come here to play. Makes no difference to me or anyone else what class they're in. Did anyone care about the excuses in 2012 when 16 true freshmen played major minutes? Nope. We lost 5 games, period. The players we're recruiting are expected to play at a championship level are they not? Are we not expected to be good enough to win the Coastal at minimum?

Is Polendey actually any good at blocking? He was skinny as Mallory last time we saw him. I think everyone assumed he was going to be a future blocking TE when we signed him but do we have any proof that is actually working out?

Va Tech imploding. Losing Trevon Hill, Josh Jackson and others is a major blow. Many of their best players are jumping ship.

@SmokeyRone was the biggest Fuente/Fedora lover on the boards a couple years ago.

He was right about Richt, though...
lies. I called Fedora a Default Corch, but better than Dicht.

I said Fedora was better than Dicht. I am right. If Dicht had VTs team, he wouldnt have won ONE game in 3 seasons.

stop lying, man

Fascinating that the TE's farewell note thanks Bud Foster (DC) for the opportunity to attend VT and thanks his TE coach but makes no mention of the HC. Similarly, Trevon Hill (DE) thanked Frank Beamer (former HC and athletic department role), Coach Foster, and his position coach, but made no mention of the HC.

It seems to me the team doesn't like Justin Fuente much.

I actually think that team is sliding into mediocrity in a hurry. They had a nice run there with Beamer when he had a generational talent at QB, and after when they were able to feed off that a while with Bud Foster's D rolling.

Well, Fuente is not Beamer, and the neighboring schools are eating his lunch with recruiting. Even Foster's defense doesn't scare anyone anymore. No one is afraid to go to Lane Stadium anymore, either.

We straight, only need to be looking at oline transfers and trying to add Jaelan Phillips and potentially trevon hill if he indeed graduates as transfers. Can’t over crowd the receiver room
Yes we can

Hopefully the “loaded WR room” performs better in 2019. That group underperformed and did not live up to the pub. AR was a huge loss, JT a star at times, the rest fair at best.

That entire offense underperformed. Let’s see how they look with college level coaching and a QB who can complete more than half his passes.
