Enos should take more responsibility for UF loss

"We have to coach better."
"That's on us as coaches.."
"It starts with coaching..."

Saban says this 50 11 times when he's interviewed. 50 11. Swinney talks about "coaching" all the time. There's a reason for it.

Hold the players accountable. Of course. But, don't minimize the coaching at all. It starts and ends there. JW could have played better. Getting rid of the ball should be fundamental. JT could have played better. Mallory could have played better. Our kicker could have made the chip shot. That's 17(?) points. Our OC could have schemed better protection - could have given his Frosh QB a little more time to diagnose as well.

With that said, Enos & JW will be fine, IMO. I really think we've finally found an OC/QB combo. New offense, OC/QB coach, entirely new offensive staff, and 3 Frosh close to the rock. It wasn't going to be smooth sailing. We will improve.

How can anyone give any credibility to that gator hack. It's not worth the time.

****ing and moaning won't change the result. It's all about how they come out against UNC.

I dga flip what he has to say, ever. Are you winning? If not get up out my face. We've had enough talkers at Miami. Thanks , Al. Just win baby.
Had the same thought recently. I just don't care if he blames himself, the players, or the Easter Bunny. Just win **** games and you don't have to blame ANYONE.

No one is saying don't criticize Jarren. What rubbed me the wrong way is that he seems to be absolving himself of blame while placing most, if not all of the blame on Jarren when the more fundamental issue was never adjusting to our tackles being overmatched, the defense jumping the snap count, and continuing to try to force slow developing play action passes in obvious passing situations. He did not put Jarren and our offense in the best position to succeed.
You’re grasping at straws.

You have no clue how much self-scouting he did after the game. All you heard was the message he decided to feed to the public.

Smart coaches use the media like puppets to get their messages to their players. All the best coaches do it, and the best in the college game does it every time he’s in front of a microphone. You think all those Sabag meltdowns aren’t purposeful?

Standing ovation for this post. He has Jarren under center on 2nd & 21, turning his back to the defense , yet he's blaming our RS Freshman QB for the offensive struggles. He brags about how he was completely prepared for everything Florida was going to do defensively, yet he made no adjustments when it was clear that our tackles were simply over matched. FOH. Look in the mirror and take some responsibility. This is your offense, Dan.

I had a similar problem with him. I felt he didn't run the ball enough to establish the PA Passing game that he wanted to run, but still called the PA Passes once the gator were pinning their ears back. We had 1 drive (IIRC) in the 2nd half where it seemed like we were trying to establish the run. Aside from that, it felt like Enos was calling plays based on what he wanted to work versus what the defense was giving us.

He wasn't taking what was available and what our kids were doing well and maximizing that. He allowed the gator to build confidence on defense while putting the first time players in position repeatedly to be exposed.

With all that said, there is ONE WAY that this can be beneficial: if he broke them down completely as a unit to show them how far they need to go and plans to slowly build them up through the season. If you can take an athlete and humble him/her and then, subsequently, allow them to see the peak of their potential, you can achieve great results. With Manny being a master motivator, I don't doubt that this could be a part of the plan.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

This is such a tired discussion. Wasn’t there a thread already on enos press conference? The offense didn’t play good enough to win given the penalties and just missed plays. Is what it is, move tf on. Nothing enos said in his press conference was wrong if you look at the skycam and see the missed plays. Since when Is being good, good enough for Miami? Enos has high expectations for Jarren, he’s not going to be soft with him. He said, “ I don’t see Jarren for who he is, I see Jarren for what he can be.” About time we start having some expectations around the program , guess what? Almost winning vs uf isn’t good enough for the defense either just like it isn’t for Jarren. Everyone could have played better

I want to piggy-back off what 'Chise is saying here... IFFF, Enos is using this to get his message out in order to humble Jarren and the team and builds them up over these next two or three weeks to prepare them for an opportunity to compete for the ACC championship, then I applaud him.. Chess, not checkers. But none of us know exactly what went down after the game. We can't assume he said this and didn't find any fault in himself and we can't assume that he went into the lab, recognized his mistakes and is going to adapt to his players. All we can do is wait and see. It really just comes down to what to you each have more faith in.

I'm hopeful, but I don't know.

Ten such threads.

Everyone is always humping Sabag’s leg. Then when we get a guy who uses some of his methods our fans start shedding tears like a Native American watching some scoundrel litter.

I liked the criticism because it was specific. It wasnt general "the players didnt run the plays" or "the moment was too big" or "they just didnt want it enough"

He started with the harshest one of :

“I grade the guys on either you played well enough for us to win or you didn’t,” Enos said. “And he did not. That’s first and foremost.”

That's the harshest one because its 33v33 not 1v1

But then he went through and talked about mistakes made by Jarren specifically. I'm sure if the question was asked about any other player ie the LG Enos would have catalogued his mistakes too.

I aint mad atcha Enos
Yea that’s great but he didn’t coach good enough for us to win either. The coaches all gave accountability cliches about themselves but then launched into specific criticisms of individual players. The question is would/will he be open to detailing his specific failures where the loss was concerned. Someone should’ve should’ve asked him to explain specifically how you think your coaching failed on Saturday. If he is open to and forthcoming with answering that question, then yes lay into our players specifically, I have zero problem with it.

100% agree. His game plan looked like he didn't know our oline would struggle considerably. Practice and the scrimmages showed that. He let his ego get in the way
We probably should have schemed better around the OTs struggling for sure but the plays were there still to be had regardless. Just got to make them at the end of the day. Playcalling looks a lot different last Saturday if you hit Jeff Thomas for some td plays that were available early on or even just plays later in the game that Thomas or Jordan had the chance at catching or even them calling cam Harris big run back. His playcalling actually wasn’t bad but it could have been better. Got to fix a few things but i Liked what i saw overall

The gaytors know they got they *** beat no matter what the score says. Before this article came out, i been blasting coach enos and diaz with some of the nonsense they said after the game. Case in point, trying to justify having transfer tate in the game by disrespecting deejay dallas talking about transfer tate had something to do with that touchdown run cause the defense had to account for him, NEWS FLASH: 2 players nobody in college football are worried about, transfer tate or soft *** mallory, why he was starting over irvin, when clearly irvin is the way better blocker was asanine, but none of those to have done **** in an actual game to get that type of attention, jarren threw to him at least twice and he came up empty. I luv agggressive offense, but you see your tackles getting manhandled, plus the snap count was getting obvious, but enos gone still dial up long distance plays without max protecting or leaving the tightends in to block, mullen wasnt stupid, on that bomb they got cause carter came up, frierson actually played that play perfect, but see where the gaytors tightend was on that play. Plus we gone waist jet sweeps with transfer tate and jlj osborn, when the only 3 players that need to be seeing jet sweep action are deejay dallas, jt4 and pope. As i asked the other day, see if you can find transfer tate and his impact in these games, according to coach diaz and enos, its a possibility he might've been in their:

I see somebody's new to football, lol, dont let the Truth hurt your feelings!

Some super sensitive people here about the QB getting constructive criticism. Laughable.

Also, it’s not an equal relationship. Enos is the boss, Jarren is the employee. Like in real life. It’s up to the boss to review the employee’s work product. He was asked questions and answered honestly. While sending Jarren a strong message that improvement is required.

While any coach should be open to having their work reviewed, that is handled internally, between coaches. We have no idea if Enos wasn’t heavily criticized internally.
