I agree that tough love is sometimes necessary and if it's your constant style that's ok too. You are what you are

But you should be equally tough on your own self assessment and take full responsibility for your own shortcomings

Yes Jarren could have played better....same with our OT's.....BUT after the scripted plays at the start of the game, our offense's ability to react and adapt to the changes the gators were making also left much to be desired.

There's plenty of blame to go around for this loss....NO ONE is immune on both sides of the ball.

I just wish he had placed more of the blame on himself rather than his frosh QB and OT's besides just saying "the buck stops here with me"

The good thing is both coaches and players definitely have the ability to improve.....so we'll see vs. UNC

I love how all these writers are coming after Enos, when they slobber all over guys like Saban, Meyer and Leach who are as tough or tougher on their players.
If you have a problem with what Enos said you have obviously never been a competitive athlete, which pretty much covers every sportswriter.

Stupid post. Enos has accepted responsibility.

Further, you missed the 17 pts. the offense scored AFTER the scripted plays were exhausted. You missed the 90 yd TD drive 2nd qtr, AFTER the scripted plays were exhausted. Jarren did not play to his potential, did not play as he practiced and did not execute. You missed the past 15 years when Cane coaches consistently let their team off the hook. Enough!

Die in a fire.

Agree 100 %.
Even his canned pro forma "buck stops with me" comment was an afterthought said in passing.
He definitely did not take any responsibility or held himself at least partially accountable.

I think Enos should take responsibility for beating the crap out of UNC.

This whole, "I take responsibility for x" has gotten to epidemic levels. You can't "take responsibility" for something that's already happened. You either were responsible, or not. Doesn't matter whether you take it.

I liked the criticism because it was specific. It wasnt general "the players didnt run the plays" or "the moment was too big" or "they just didnt want it enough"

He started with the harshest one of :

“I grade the guys on either you played well enough for us to win or you didn’t,” Enos said. “And he did not. That’s first and foremost.”

That's the harshest one because its 33v33 not 1v1

But then he went through and talked about mistakes made by Jarren specifically. I'm sure if the question was asked about any other player ie the LG Enos would have catalogued his mistakes too.

I aint mad atcha Enos

We're taking advice from gator reporters now? Great plan.

Standing ovation for this post. He has Jarren under center on 2nd & 21, turning his back to the defense , yet he's blaming our RS Freshman QB for the offensive struggles. He brags about how he was completely prepared for everything Florida was going to do defensively, yet he made no adjustments when it was clear that our tackles were simply over matched. FOH. Look in the mirror and take some responsibility. This is your offense, Dan.

The amount of criticism our "fans" are giving these coaches is laughable.

It was Week 0 with a brand new staff, a brand new quarterback—going up against a solid defense and the #8 team in the country, on the heels of 7-6 and a 35-3 bowl ***-kicking that sent Mark Richt into retirement.

For those who can't logically assess things on a week-to-week basis, just put your head in the sand until December and give a full evaluation when the first season is in the books.
