Did he improve the QB play or do we just have a better QB?

The jury is out on this imo because Williams is obviously better than Rosier.

Perry didn't win the job. So we can't really judge the progression he might've made from last season to this one. To know at this point, Is Enos a QB guru.

I think he did improve QB play and we absolutely have a better QB! Some of his play calling is puzzling though because we all know our O-line is garbage yet he periodically calls plays that are not suited to the strength of (lol, strength and our O-line in the same sentence) our O-line.
 
Up to this point. It isn't looking good at all.

Square peg round hole syndrome. Once again pokes it's ugly head out of the hole.

You got a bad OL but you scheme to their weakness. You got a young QB who is trying to find his way and you make it harder for him to do so. By making him turn his back to a defense. With this OL that is made out of paper. Then asking him to go through all his progressions. When the DL is tucking him in after each play.

Yeah Williams has to get better and slow the game down but ****. Make it manageable in the mean time. Or hope your back up is ready to step up. Frankly I'm amazed at Williams hasn't been severely injured yet.
 
@OBLIVION one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb about the OL is how bad their footwork is. of course, proper
technique in movement is critical for position and leverage in blocking and the OL we have look like cows on iceskates.

I can't rank on Barry hard atm. He has what was left to him and has some really young guys he has sprinkled in. The OL i hope gets better in time but just like Williams. They need help until they grow as a unit.

It may sound cliche but get in the shotgun and get the ball out asap. This will allow Williams more time with eyes looking at the defense from the start and it won't ask an OL unit that just isn't good enough at this time to block longer than they need too.

You had two games vs P5 that showed you that what you want to do won't work at the present time. You had two tune up games to try and solve that issue. Yet it looks like were going to go with insane. Try to do something over and over even though we know it won't work.

agree, with the Oline and moving Scaife to LT, sad to say he's the only guy who at least can be an average college OT
have to have to go 100% shotgun
 
Interesting stats from Manny today:

According to Sports Info Solutions, Williams has completed 55 of his 77 attempts from the shotgun (71.4 percent) for 706 yards and five touchdowns. He has been under center less but has been just as effective when it comes to completing passes. He has connected on 30 of his 40 attempts under center (75 percent) for 321 yards and two scores.

The issue is Miami runs the ball better when Williams is under center (4.2 per rush) than when he’s in the shotgun (3.6 per carry).

As it stands, Miami is averaging more first downs (22.3 per game) and points (31.3 per game) in 2019 than it did in 2018 (17.1 first downs; 28.8 points).

Aside from QB completion percentage, the offensive numbers in 2019 are almost identical to 2018. Manny is saying we're averaging 31.3 a game.....take the Bethune game out and we're averaging 20.7, which is 100th in the country.

In 2018 against FBS teams, we averaged 24.8 PPG, which was 89th in the country.

Also averaging 5.45 yards per play this year (78th) vs. 5.44 YPP last year (84th).

The offense is basically exactly the same as it was last year. What we're gaining in completion percentage with Williams vs Perry/Rosier, we're losing in sacks given up this year. We only gave up 2.17 sacks per game last year against FBS teams...this year it's 6.0 and last in the country.
