Enos has been here before...

This is some very important info that people are not realizing. If both QB’s feel they can start somewhere it make sense for them to go now. Unfortunately it is a business and not 1983 any longer.

If they wait till this season starts they are giving up a year of eligibility for the unknown, Williams getting hurt or sucking.

It’s a tough call for these kids and neither of them are giant UM fan boys like this board who would give their right arm to carry towels for the team. If either stays it shows a lot about their character and/or love for UM. I would not fault either or both for leaving today.
The question is how much better is Jarren than Tate or N'kosi? I feel that N'kosi has just as much if not more arm talent than Jarren, but Jarren is more polished since he's been working with a QB specialist since high school or before. If I'm N'kosi's dad, I tell him to stay at UM. Enos can get you to the NFL. You have the tools. Work on your deficiencies. Take your game to the next level. Prepare every week like your the starter. Ball out when you get your chance. Challenge Jarren next year the same way Jarren sat behind you and worked his *** off to pass you. You do the same. You both can be elite. IF he's still QB1 in 2020, keep grinding and get your degree in December 2020. Keep improving and a lot of top teams will be begging to get you when you graduate in December 2020 and become a grad transfer in the Spring of 2021.

id say Kosi has the most raw physical talent but jarren is the most polished. hes got the tools, just hasn't put it together

I think it'll be interesting to see if Enos does what he did last year with Tua and Hurts with Jarren and QB2/QB3. Will he leave Jarren in when we're up big just to get the reps? Or will he bring in QB2/QB3 to get some reps and keep them engaged?

Tate can grad transfer at end of year. So I dont see him leaving. Not sure of where Perry stands. But if he is close to graduating it would make sense to stick it out as well.

What are these guys majoring in when you can play football yet still graduate in 2 or 3 years? Graffiti Arts ? Lawn Management? Eligibility Maintenance?

Against quality opponents, J Will needs as many live action reps as he can get.

QB2/3 can get reps against Bethune C

Don't know that they're majoring in, but a lot of athletes nowadays go to school pretty much year round - especially in football/basketball.

QB2 would be a gutless imbecile to transfer. It ain’t like Jarren is a 10 year veteran HOFer entrenched as the starter. The dude hasn’t played a real game yet.
Or how about if JW15 gets injured and then your relying on Kosi and a true freshman as the back up for the remainder of the year. I do not get how you can be a Canes fan and want to run off Tate out of the program this year. ******* fools....

Exactly and people forget what happened last year to Clemson after Lawrrence got the job and Bryant left. The very next game Lawrence got hit hard while running and was out for the rest of the game.

And this is exactly part of the problem we have had the past couple of coaching staffs with QB development. Butch and Erickson tried to always play the back up one series a game if they got the chance too.

Agreed with a seasoned starter. No problem spreading wealth in J Will's second year as great starter.

QB2 should absolutely hang around.

Not a good look for Tate if he transfers again without ever throwing a pass for Miami (in a game). He should stay & hone his craft (particularly throwing the ball). He needs to show that he can compete at this level. Otherwise, its likely FCS schools.

They should all stick around this year & continue to compete. You never know how things will play out.
I can't see Tate sticking. N'kosi has 2 years invested in the program. Tate has 6 months. As stated in another post, staying the 2019 season would mean sitting out the 2020 season elsewhere. That goes for both Tate and N'kosi. Each has already redshirted. They would have only 1 year of eligibility if they transfer after the 2019 season. The only one that makes sense to stay is N'kosi. He could continue to improve under Enos. Maybe challenge Jarren in 2020 or get his degree in 2020 and grad transfer for the 2021 season.

This is the reality.

If they take classes during Summer A and B sessions, they can graduate in 3 years.

Plus Tate enrolled early at OSU. So, he has likely already had the following time in college:

Spring 2017
Summer 2017
Fall 2017
Spring 2018
Summer 2018
Fall 2018
Spring 2018 (Miami)
Summer 2019 (Miami)

After the next academic year (Fall and Spring) he will have 7 full length semesters plus 3 summer sessions under his belt. That is equal to or more than the regular course load of 8 full semesters to graduate. Sh*t I wouldn't be surprised if he could be on track to graduate after the Fall semester.

So long as he can graduate in the next academic year, his smartest approach would be to suck it up this year. Work hard on the field to improve (get coached up) and work to graduate and then go wherever he wants unencumbered as a grad transfer.

N'kosi has a more vested interest even though both face the same eligibility issue. I think Diaz wanting to have a competition for QB2 is more about keeping both guys so they won't transfer once school starts. The original plan was that 1 guy would be eliminated from the QB1 battle while the other 2 go at it for QB1 and QB2. Well, that 3rd guy is going to bolt for sure. I don't think it's fair to either Tate or N'kosi. Name the #2 and let the #3 get on with whatever decision he wants to make for himself.

Not going to lie.
I would lose some respect for Perry if he does go. Especially since he was talking about maturity and putting the team first and saying they have a brotherhood and such.

Brothers just don't bolt on brothers like that.

Just sayin'
Facts.

That boy got the :neonu: tatted.

IDK how it all works. But there was talk that Tate was close to qualifying as a grad transfer when leaving OSU. He will qualify almost certainly after a semester here.
