Encouraging defensive stat

I ouldn’t have been more wrong about Young. Thought he’d have some growing pains to work through but he was fantastic from snap one.

Easy to see why he was the most coveted recruit in America two years ago.

Not sure that’s a good stat for us considering we send the house and can’t get him on the ground. Probably another manny diaz cherry pick speciality to keep him around. We can’t be this dense. You get that many pressures and get gashed every play? What good are pressures
It’s a useless stat unless you’re hitting the qb , causing incomplete passes or getting sacks. It’s like saying I hit 15 threes in a game but I attempted 60.

These are the kind of empty stats / metrics Manny likes to force feed y’all. He’s smiling ear to ear at all the “QB pressures” and cannot wait to display it on a chart, regardless of how many explosive plays or holes in the defense.

Easy to get that much pressure when you’re blitzing every other down.

I was about to Post this.

He looked PREPARED
This!

He knew WHEN the pressure was coming, WHERE it was coming from, HOW to escape it, and WHO to deliver the ball to.

To me, it speaks to the young man skill, and quality coaching!

We made alot of mistakes, but Bryce Young looked elite! Those RBs are elite as well. Their blitz pickups were equally as impressive

Yall blowing a FR QB because he turnt up against us. We are hot trash with this coaching staff. Did i say he was bad or didn't play well? I just think its mad early when he could go to Gainesville and look like a total chump and we could get diced up by every other QB we play which would put his performance into perspective. Yall just like to start conflict where there was none.
I haven't said jack**** about Young.

The play calls were also perfect , he likely had two calls to make dictated by our coverage. Most good oc’s expose Manny’s D , even if the qb isn’t great. It’s fish in a barrel.

Then why you talking about my post said nothing about the original post when thats exactly what i referred to? They were saying how good Bryce Young is and blah blah. Yes he was great against us but i have to see him do it against less inept coaches such As UF in Gainesville and Texas A&M in college station and maybe even Ole Miss who can score with them. Thats simply what i said. Whats the need for the snide comments after that?

This reminds me of the infamous Tackle for Loss stat that had us even with Bama last year. Some people actually argued that meant we were as good as Bama.

As if that mattered to Bama.

Golden did this nonsense as well. On rainy days with the win blowing from the southwest we lead the FBS in the 4th quarter for pass deflections.
There are not many more blatant red flags for a coach.

Pretty interesting here. Again, Bryce Young was just jaw-droppingly fantastic. I can’t say enough about that kid. In person, he was one of the most impressive college QBs I’ve ever seen in my entire life. But this should bode well for the rest of the season cause we won’t see Bama’s OL and we sure as **** won’t see another Bryce Young again.

Other teams on the list
Missouri 45 pressures - 9 sacks
Auburn 43 pressures - 6 sacks
Oklahoma State 35 pressures - 5 sacks
Notre Dame 34 pressures - 5 sacks

I'm sure all of you calling out the alleged lack of creativity watched all those other games and were completely surprised by every pressure/blitz that was called. Or maybe it was because
Missouri was playing Central Michigan
Auburn played Akron
Oklahoma State played Missouri State
Notre Dame played FSU

Even watching the UGA-Clemson I wasn't overwhelmed by Kirby's creativity. Clemson OL stunk and Georgia has physical monsters

Not to diminish how well Young played last weekend, however...

Alabama is very good at picking apart defenses pre-snap and communicating with their QBs.

Having an army of 'analysts' and football personel both stealing signs and looking at tendencies probably has something to do with that.

I've actually had a person involved with that program tell me that that is why he thinks their QBs may struggle in the pros intially, is that Bama's offensive 'system' is almost a cheat code and makes it very easy on their QBs.

Manny has never disguised blitz’s well, and you can bet your bottom dollar Saban’s staff was looking at Manny’s blitz packages the week after they won the Natty. They had every package scouted a mile away, and were foaming at the mouth.

They knew when to slide/pinch the line. They knew when to keep the RB/TE in to protect. They knew when to swing the RB/TE out or delay them as a checkdown. People can make fun of Bill O about his Texans decisions all they want but he’s still an NFL caliber OC. Him vs Manny was taking candy from a baby.

Bryce Young is a good QB no doubt. But we didn't even make it tough on them. Leading from gun to tape and never needing to answer a score. Im not going overboard with the praise yet. He plays in Gainesville next in 2 weeks and later at A&M. Those teams have better coaches than us and will atleast know what it means to bracket a primary read. We will see what he does then
One thing to keep in mind is all the holding that takes place against out team. He should've had a few more sacks if not for their guys tackling our linemen. While we didn't lose because of the refs, their missed calls was egregious.

Me and a friend were laughing in pre snap , I was like if we see where this is coming from what is Bama thinking? It was fish in a barrel. Their ol knew where to slide and the coaches new where the holes were.

Stop. The officiating wasn’t trash but that play in the endzone was 100.0% NOT grounding. Just a smart play by a fantastic player.
I may be mistaken, I thought if you have a defensive lineman on the outside of the QB that you were still in the pocket? I may be wrong but there was a lineman on his outside when he grounded that ball and I believe it should have been grounding. Just my two cents.

I was at the game as well and I agree this kid is good, but **** we really make it easy for QBs to look good, guys are consistently wide open against this D, it is so maddening to watch.

Nah. It’s tackle to tackle when the ball is snapped. He was outside where the tight tackle was lined up at the snap when he threw the ball. Pretty easy call although real-time at the game from our sideline it looked a lot closer than it was.

dude those teams give up over 500 yards and 50 points apiece last year to this team. Do you really expect that significant a drop off?
