Encouraging defensive stat

We did get pressure but we didn't get him down. Alot of it was young's awareness but also our soft coverage left open spots for him to throw to. That's a problem where we need to tighten the coverage up. We don't get our hands on the ball because we're covering grass instead of a body. We had one pass defended and that was bolden who should've picked it off. We used to get our hands on the ball. We haven't done it since 2017-18. 7 picks last year and if we keep this up it'll be the same.

He plays waaaay bigger than his size. I was shocked when they said he was only 6ft. His play kinda reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger for some reason.
 
Many times bama was using the TE/Hback to block inside rusher and the back would pick up the outside rusher. This giving Young just a little bit more time. Also there were several holding calls not called throughout the game.
 
Outside of the early big play gaffs and poor tackling, I thought the defense showed huge improvement. The got penetration and tackled much much better the second half. I'm encouraged. Just need better scheming and packages for Taylor and Jim Wms.

He plays in Gainesville next in 2 weeks and later at A&M. Those teams have better coaches than us and will atleast know what it means to bracket a primary read. We will see what he does then

Depends on how you look at it: we still only sacked their QB once; They aren't in the upper "hurry" stat but sacked our QB 4 times

Not sure that’s a good stat for us considering we send the house and can’t get him on the ground. Probably another manny diaz cherry pick speciality to keep him around. We can’t be this dense. You get that many pressures and get gashed every play? What good are pressures

Yall blowing a FR QB because he turnt up against us. We are hot trash with this coaching staff. Did i say he was bad or didn't play well? I just think its mad early when he could go to Gainesville and look like a total chump and we could get diced up by every other QB we play which would put his performance into perspective. Yall just like to start conflict where there was none.
