Highlights Empirically Speaking | WR Heisman Winners vs J Smith and M Toney...By The Numbers

Only chance Mali has is to have a big game against ND, and even that might not be enough.

Smith is gonna have way too much appeal for the voters to pass up. All-time greatest OSU wide receiver is going to weigh heavily. Only way he doesn’t get it as if his production drops off because Sayin is out.
So the all time greatest OSU receiver vs the all time greatest UM receiver. Seems like neither title should eclipse the other.

Smith will still somehow gets his stats.

This will be a race all the way to the finish.
Not so fast. Indiana gave a blueprint of how you can shut him down. And now he is without his QB. The thing about Mali that I have been preaching is you can’t shut him down. He goes in motions, switches motion, isos, lines up in backfield. There is no defense that can stop him. Smith is a different story. I would love to poll ever defensive coordinator in college and ask them this. Who would keep you up at night preparing for Smith or Mali? Guarantee the answer is Mali by a wide margin.

Yeah, but you’re talking about Heisman voters and you know which way they’re going to lean.

I think Miami will start featuring Mali (Funny right) to scheme for the Heisman as the season rolls on. As long as it stays close...expect to see more designed passes and runs. A couple TD passes and hopefully one PR TD will be enough to secure the Heisman.

said this in another thread but big ND performance + win and I think one of our guys wins it

Mestemaker at 45-1 is interesting gambling wise

edit: lolol we have 2 guys in the top 3 of the heisman. enjoy it, wasn't too long ago we were watching jake garcia score 12 points total in a 5 OT game lmao

Greatest UM WR of all time should eclipse greatest OSU WR of all time.
Michael Irvin, Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss > Chris Carter, Paul Warfield, Joey Galloway, Terry Glenn

I wasn’t willing to call Toney the best ever before the Pitt game. I think it’s a wrap. Best ever at UM

Look how close Malachi & Smith's numbers are now that they've played the same number of games, but all the talk remains Jeremiah being the runaway Heisman favorite, even though Mali is a much better blocker and can impact the game in more ways.
Mali's had 200+ yards or so and 3 TDs called back too.....will potentially cause him the Heisman. A few of those were bull**** calls.
