Let me preface this by saying I am ALL ABOUT getting the best possible quarterback even if we need to sign a portal guy every year. But…we were a last day of the portal Mensah decision away from a Judd Anderson/Luke Nickel QB battle this year even after Cam and Carson’s success. We got turned down by every other available portal QB we offered. We ended up with the best of the bunch but only because we paid a huge buyout and Mensah had a miraculous “change of heart”.

No, he got hurt on our own 21 yard line. Could he have driven us the other 79 yards if he didn’t get hurt? Maybe but besides the one fluke George touchdown Miami had a total of 38 second half yards when he got hurt. Our second half possessions looked like this: 14 yards, 5 yards, 12 yards, 6 yards, 1 yard, 0 yards, 80 yards (Mauigoa had a false start before the 85 yard pass). We didn’t have a single drive with more than 5 offensive plays.

I really wish the people that said that nonsense would rewatch the FSU game. Should have had like 3 INTs that game. Plus another pass on a crossing route that was thrown 4 yards behind the WR. He was absolute dog**** in that game, outside of getting lucky that FSU's DB decided to channel his best AJ Highsmith impersonation on that George TD.

by all accounts, super nice kid, played his role well, never got into trouble, always cheered his teammates on. wanted a chance to start (as he should, always bet on yourself), wish him the best and move on.

Every year it went that way. Cam almost went pro, Beck didn’t shake loose until late late after we passed on Mendoza. Mensah was a minor miracle after we passed on Bailey. We pressed our luck like crazy lol.
