Emory da Gawd

Regressed relative to how he played against Ball Sack.

He’s older, more experienced and has been in the system longer, so in Mario calculus, he’s QB2 and will get the reps. I don’t like it though because he’s already proven he can’t be QB1 next season. Wasted opportunity to get a look at Nickell.
This is one of the issues that I see with Mario. He gets paid to win, not to make guys that are upper classmen feel good about themselves because of their loyalty to the program.

Emory has had plenty of chances. He can’t even look good against a lowly FCS team like Bethune. Dude is buns. Stands in the pocket like a statue and takes way too long to process his reads. He also is extremely inaccurate.

Not giving Luke the playing time that he needed tonight borders on corching malpractice. Just because Mario “trusts” Emory. Pathetic.

Neither one will be a difference maker for us this season if Beck goes down so…shrug

Against Ball State last year he went 11-12 161 and a touchdown.

Doesn’t help he had about 3 drops including a TD, but he looks only slightly more comfortable against BCU than he did against Iowa St.

Complete wasted opportunity not getting Nickel some live reps.

These games against FCS opponents, especially the likes of Bethune Cookman, are nothing more than scrimmages.

Nickel should've played the entire 2nd half, there was absolutely no reason for Ember to take a snap in this game.
Totally disagree here.

We can all agree that Emory is not the future of the franchise but if Mario/Shannon have decided that he is QB2, not Nickel, then he needs game action this season in case Beck was ever injured.

They obviously don’t plan on rolling Nickel into a game where Beck went down, it would be Emory, he needs the game reps when available for that sole purpose

Didn’t get to watch much of 2nd half. The fact that Emory put up okay numbers against BCU and his ypa was nearly half of Beck’s doesn’t seem too promising tho

Game reps to do what exactly?

If Beck goes down, the only thing Emory is going to be doing is handing the ball off all game.

Getting him reps to see him miss more throws that he cannot make.

It's already known what he is & what he can/can't do. There is no amount reps against Bethune Cookman that will help him or the team in any way.

No. I completely disagree. Played better the last time he played b-c

Emory is nowhere near as much of an issue as people would believe. That's not saying you want him as your starting QB. It's saying if you HAD to go with him you can win with him as long as you adjust your approach.
Like the second half of the bowl game with the #1 offense in the country?

Wasted opportunity to not get Nickel reps.

If Beck gets injured, we’re cooked anyway, the difference is you know Emory’s ceiling, and it isn’t good enough. Nickell, you have no idea, it might be a lot higher if he can get some real reps to build upon. I can tell you for certain, our luck portal hopping will run out one year.
