Is that accurate? Which means we can sign 28 without any attrition taking place in 18? This could be a huge class if that is the case

Um, no. But we will lose quite a bit of talent on the d-line after this year, so '18 will be impt for signing ends and tackles.

I thought Wright got the boot which will make it 66. Then you have to add the 14 guys who signed NLOI that will report in June plus Delaney which will make the total number of counters to 81 if they all make it past the initial eligibility center.

Assuming all that happens, the IC(initial counter) for '17 will be at 22. That leaves room to count 3 EEs in Jan. '18 back to '17. So 28 is possible using the 25 from the '18 IC. So if UM can clear 24 scholarships off the total counters of 81 making the TC(total counters) 57, then 28 would fit under both counters.

67+28= 95 not 85 b

Hey ****tard if we have 10 SR on the roster in 18 you have to subtract that from the 67.. For you idiots who can't do math that is 67-10=57 85-57=28

You are missing the 10 kids from the chart that haven't arrived yet from the '17 class.

Seriously don't understand why the op thinks that we're currently 18 below the limit with the last class included...

If we were heading into the season with 67 on scholarship, I'd be making the banner myself.

OP. The chart is not accurate. It still includes Cedrick Wright who is no longer on the team. We currently have 66 scholarship athletes enrolled. If we assume everyone from the 2017 class qualifies, and we add in Deejay Delaney, we have 81 scholarships used up.

We have 12 Seniors and RS Seniors, so assuming no further attrition, we currently have 16 spots available for the 2018 class.

In my opinion, there are 4 underclassmen who have a shot to leave early for the NFL (Walton, Willis, McIntosh, and Norton). Additionally, there are 7 RS Juniors who I believe the staff should consider not renewing for a 5th year (Rosier, J. Jones, McCray, Smith, Mayes, Gray, and Langham), and 3 others that should be encouraged to transfer (Fines, Mahoney, and Henley) if they don't start contributing this season.

That leaves 30 spots available subject to NCAA limitations on class sizes, early enrollees, and initial counters. Here's a look at the class sizes by year. The first number is the number of athletes signed, and the second is the number of initial counters (after subtracting early enrollees carried back to the previous year and adding early enrollees carried back from the subsequent year). The NCAA only allows 25 initial counters per year.

2010: 26(23)
2011: 21(25)
2012: 32(25)
2013: 21(25)
2014: 29(25)
2015: 25(25)
2016: 22(25)
2017: 25(22) - includes Deejay Delaney

Given that we can carry 3 early enrollees for the 2018 class back to the 2017 class, a class of 28 certainly seems possible. I'm thinking 26 - 28 is a good estimate.

I wonder if he'll come back and call himself a tard as easily as he did the others who actually understand numbers

All you guys wanting a class of 28 should look one more yr into the future and see what signing over 20-25 does for the next class. Not good.
