You sure you want to stand behind this comment? Not trying to pick on you at all - most of your commentary is fair/good. Usually, younger OL adapt to the college run blocking faster than pass blocking. Usually being the key word. As far as I've read on CiS, Cantwell fits what I wrote to a Tee. I don't kow about Buchanon (assuming he's the other guard). I am pretty sure Samson graded out well in both. I don't remember McCoy's grades. I have no idea about Rodriguez at center. All that to the side, we all know how much Mario loves Bullyball. Even if we can't run block as well as last year (we won't - that was a veteran unit of studs), we will still be good enough and I can't see Mario changing his mantra/credo/actitud/theme of power running. Am I missing something?

I'm not worried about McCoy. I thought he was good enough. My main worry is at C. I don't trust Rodriguez at all, that's why I keep saying I wish they went portal for the 65th year in a row at C. But hey I'm not an OL guy and Mario and Mirabal are some of the best in the business.

Are we debating me using the adjective - serious as too strong? You already admit it wont be as good.

I believe the power run game will take a serious step back.

What does "serious step back" look like? I take that to mean a fall off of a yard or more per carry across the season. Is that what you meant? Do you not want to quantify it? Are you talking about the number of running plays called vs passing plays? Are you talking situational? Did you willfully ignore the rest of my commentary in order to shield your ego? Do the returning RBs get any credit/mention for possibly (gasp) improving over the off-season? I mean we are talking hypotheticals and futurecasting here. I respectfully questioned your comment because of Mario's culture/credo. I don't think I'm stepping out on a limb to say Mario is pretty well known for his bullyball run-first offense. Your comment about the power run game sounds awfully hyperbolic to me, but hey what do I know. Maybe I need to see a therapist for anti-adjective bias syndrome.

This new recruiting with agents and negotiator's and all attorneys probably just so strange and how it drags on.

Your right , plus a couple of our CIS family members already communicated this to me in uncertain terms.

I just come from a time of Championships Rings and true family at the U , every words from most recruits are false only away to get profit not thinking how fleeting CFB is to make the NFL .

That is what I hear - Cal and UCLA have coaches he likes etc. but neither one is anywhere near relevant in the National picture for CFP participation. Playing in meaningful games and CFP participation is a huge factor for elite players. Outstanding that UM is BACK in the title hunt discussion!!!

One thing that gets lost is we have arguably the best pass protection running back in college football as well.

And we legitimately have enough wide receivers that if you go 4 wide you HAVE to keep an eye on every single one of them.

I loved our wide receiving room the last 2 years…but this is about to look like **** did 20+ years ago.
