His high school film showed that he was an explosive deep threat but if someone wanted to be critical they would say he was a one trick pony (even if that one trick was 20 yd a catch avg and striking up the band deep threat), his offseason camp verified that he has explosive and fast athletic profile but also has higher ceiling as he has been routing dudes up no matter the competition. Anyone who cant see the talent and obviously usc has under achieved but they know talented WR. This is a GREAT possible pickup and steal.

I can picture this recruitment dragging on till every college gets tired of it .

Then if he comes saying I was always a Canes and bleeding blah blah and so on.

It’s better for him to say , got my money I’m committing till it’s portal time and I’ll squeeze some more.

Great WR no doubt but it’s tearing CFB apart what this all brings with being played.

The money will come wanting it now and never playing a D-1 season.

What? He is quite literally committing on Tuesday.

It's crazy man how impatient and ignorant some people are, isn't it? Kid is taking his visits and is committing next week on Tuesday. I don't know what else can be expected from him.
And then just wait if he doesn't pick us, how grown men here will slam the kid and smear his character instead of being happy with our class and moving on.
It does sound to me like we are the pick, but if the kid decides to stay close to home and play with his HS QB, then that is totally understandable and wish him the best.

This kid is a talent. I remember when news leaked that we were targeting two Cali WRs in Woodard and Hale. This very board watched both films and basically came back with the same unanimous take that while Hale was rated higher, Woodard had the better film. This was before Woodard had decommitted and emerged as the primary target.

Is he a perfect prospect? No, but he is a great WR2 for our class. Got to stack chips as much as possible, even though its much harder in today's era with the portal. Some of these guys will end up busts, they just will, even some 5 stars, gotta make sure you cover your bases there and this kid would be a fantastic addition to what is the best class on paper since I started following recruiting.

I agree. Of course we'd all love to land 20 5 stars every year. On average they're going to be good more than 3 or 4 stars on average. The problem is there are so many exceptions. There are just too many kids across the country to possibly see all of them and make a legit evaluation.

One small disagreement - while I think Mario is a very good evaluator, he's not going to get it right every time. No coach/recruiter nails every evaluation. There are always going to be kids who don't pan out, whether they are 5 stars or 3 stars.
One thing I'll say about this is up until 2024-2025 I'm sure Mario had to settle on kids he normally would not have green lit just because you have to fill the class with someone. I feel like with each passing year the hit rate has gone up with his classes because he isn't whiffing on his primary targets as much. On field success has also made it possible for him to cast a wider net nationally to find better quality undervalued prospects like JJ Dunigan

Most people don’t actually grow up they just get older.

Excited for this kid, though. Will be very happy to have him.

I think that's right. Early on he had to settle some just to get bodies. Now we can be much more picky. That's said, some guys will still be busts, even some 5 stars.
