I think there's an outside chance Vaughn redshirts…I know it seems far-fetched. But things would be much easier for him to have a big role with Jacobs and Barkate gone. (he's behind Moore as well) And remember they took him and Jacobs before Barkate to UM was thing.

Maybe a little far-fetched, I know redshirting isn't real popular nowadays, but this may be one spot player and team good benefit. I mean he's likely fighting Wingo for the #6 spot this year?
We didn’t pay him to redshirt.

Vaughn has already redshirted in 2023 as a frosh at JacksonvilleSt. Played as a RSFR there, then transfered to WVU as a RSSO. And now he is a RSJR.
Jacobs has also already redshirted in 2023 as a Frosh at FSU. This is currently his RS JR season as well.

So doubt it.

Understood. But we didn't pay him to sit on the bench either

And he's probably gonna do a fair amount of that. I may be wrong.
He plays a very key role within that room where he may not start but he will play. He is the WR that stretches the field and opens everything else up. When we hit the portal not only did we need numbers at WR but we needed that particular skill set.

My man I understand it trust me

But Jacobs has that particular skill set as well or even better and I heard his name a lot more during spring.

Again I wouldn't bet on it, but could see the scenario.

I think regardless only Wingo isn't getting shirted. I mean Parris has a shot if any injuries or I guess we're just wooping teams that hard. Spafford imo only has a shot if he's a ST contributor. Evans I think is 100% RS.
I agree. I have a hard time seeing Wingo not getting burn. Our schedule is trash. He will see time in the majority of our games.

Toney/Barkate/Moore… Clear top 3 imo

Upshaw and Jacobs are next two

Then Vaughn and Wingo, but the obviously can push the guys ahead of them and comp should be fierce.

As said above I'd say Parris and Spafford both have ehhh about a 30-40% chance of not redshirting, and they will probably stagger their games if one of them is needed because of injuries. But it would take serious injury situation for both not to redshirt. Evans is pretty much a lock to redshirt.

Spafford would make sense to RS. Really needs to put on some weight or he's going to get killed out there. Parris maybe.

But Wingo, if healthy, is hard to see. Kid was ranked top 50. I know rankings aren't everything, but I think convincing him to shirt might be tough given his pedigree.

WR is the most loaded room on the team. CB is deep, but you need lots of those guys, as we found out in the NC Game.

Ya I agree…No chance for Wingo

My boy Wingo will play, no shirt for him. Only if you guys knew what he's been doing on the practice field before the injury to his hand, I'll leave it at that. #stayed tuned
All I needed to hear was Mali say he is a DOG and say oh I wasnt supposed to say that while smiling, told me all I needed to know.. Is he fully recovered from Hand injury?

Be for real man lol

Do we? We brought in like 6 WRs this year and have a commit from our #1 target. And we probably only lose Barkate this year too

Yes. This is how you get imbalance on your roster.

Also, it's the portal era. If you think every kid on the roster now (except Barkate, you're correct, he's out of eligibility) will be on the roster in 2027, you're kidding yourself. What happened in the RB room this year is virtually unprecedented. No chance in **** I'm banking on that happening again.

There is literally one kid who I guarantee will be on the roster in 2027....Malachi Toney. That's it. After that, whoever doesn't play much this year is very much in jeopardy of leaving. I don't know who that will be yet, but there's about a 0.01% chance all of Upshaw, Moore, Jacobs, Vaughn, Wingo, Spafford, and Paris are all on the roster next year. You can't sign 1 WR in a cycle anymore, not that you really ever could before, but in this era, these rosters are markedly different from year to year.

Need is a strong word but it would be prudent to sign at least 2. First transfers are a two way street. Second is that a bunch of the talent we have is unproven. Moore and Upshaw have flashed but it wouldn’t be the first time at any program where a kid didn’t take the expected jump from year one to two. Likewise, we are hearing Wingo is the truth but it wouldn’t be the first time if it turned out the Greentree hype was premature.

Injuries happen as well. What happens if Vaughn or Jacobs have huge year and go pro while the guys behind them don’t develop? You need the balance at a position where rotating 6 has become the norm.
