Miami will be fine at WR either way. The offense is going to light up the scoreboard this year and Miami will have their choice in recruiting and in the portal.
was coming to type exactly this. I am not worried about WR at all. We obviously got the 5* stud already in the boat and after we have 2 guys go over 1k yards this year, we'll get what we need in the portal

The crazy thing is if we are able to retain the guys we have there now, would we really even need to bring in someone from the portal for 2027? I’d argue 3 of our top 5 WRs right now are only sophomores- Mali, Moore and Upshaw. Wingo is going to play this year. You got Paris and spafford in that class. Lannear will be in the mix year 1. That room is set up nicely for the future

If we don’t get Eli I hope we just punt this year. This is supposed to be a small class right? We got 4 WRs last year. The roster seems pretty WR aplenty right now with good, long term talent. Technically, the only WR leaving after this season would be Cooper right? Everyone else has eligibility left. We don’t need to force anything imo.
I guess it’s rocket science to these children,

We offer a chance a once in a lifetime chance to play for NC almost every year moving forward at least compete for a ring .

Even if the don’t start wearing a NC ring changes players lives for ever.

To say NO I’d rather player somewhere else and be a regular player that leaves college and that’s it boom done.

The attention that Miami draws is a billion dollars in business every year for all to share who’s apart of the train ride.

I know players from 25 years ago that they would get jobs because of the NC RING plus had NEVER paid for a bar tab because of the RING or waited in line for anything especially at the Hard Rock Casino!

To tell Miami NAW IM GOOD I’ll go to California and disappear.

Then sentenced to watching Miami on PRIME TIME almost every week ( at home or in dorm thinking of WHAT COULD Have BEEN) OH MY WHST HAVE I DONE 🥵🥵🥵 ) sellout crowds 5 star hotels, police escort everywhere the list is very long .

Plus your connections to NETWORKING after college is worth MILLIONS MORE.

There just miss guided children, SAD.

I'm not so sure about that, but I'm biased.
Millions over there lifetime, Playmaker speaks continuously about recruits have to look not a four years but 10-20 years of there future just Miami networking is very prosperous alone .

Remember my post is generality over all.

One happy hour visit at Lil Hollies at the falls , I met a former Miami player the bar was so so busy.

We walked in and slowly heads turned cell phones to ears of everyone!

Half hour later bar is filling up and visitors at our table increased, we ordered ate drank asked for bill manager came by said look at this bar , enjoy your evening all on the house .

My friend always joked HEY GOCANES05 , you call me when your hungry NAW NOT MEE BROTHER LOLOL.

Hey let’s go to Big Cheese, I’m hungry AGAIN LOLOL

ANYWAY, there’s no place like Miami for young recruits

Sure, our WR is loaded. Which makes me think we'll lose 1-3 guys that will transfer out for more PT elsewhere. For that reason, I'd like to add at least one more guy. And I believe we will, whether it's Woodard or someone else.

As I said, Cal is very real. I believe they hold the momentum in this one now.
Yikes, would be a brutal loss if we don't get Woodard. Especially after losing out on Tre Moore/Hale reaffirming with USC.
I hear what you’re saying but I disagree. We got the top prize in the boat already(Lennear). Another WR will emerge. Ie. Milan Parris. It’s still not done as he hasn’t committed so we could still swing momentum.
Do you have sauces or are you just going on gut feelings and vibes?

For the folks who think Eli would be “staying close to home” if he went to Cal, have you ever looked at a map? It’s almost an 8 hour car ride.
UCLA’s football program stinks como mierda so not worried there.

Eli decommitted from USC about a month ago, has taken two visits and has a third one coming. This is NIL era where agents create/fabricate stories for leverage to ⬆️ the 💰. Some of you must be new or high estrogen because this isn’t new. Does this guarantee we get Eli? No it does not. However some of these freak out comments in response to a generic post-visit tweet is really weak. Some would even say feminine. 💅🏾

Yeah, sort of like saying Coral Gables is close to home for a kid from Pensacola.

In terms of networking and making millions. University of California, Berkeley is 4th in producing the most millionaires. https://www.timeshighereducation.co...es-for-producing-millionaires/2008749.article

I'm not debating the list you sent one bit or Berkeley's place on that list. I am curious as to how that list was assembled. Are the schools ranked by gross number of millionaires? Or by percentage? Average wealth by university alumni? Some amalgamation of those? Harvard is significantly smaller than both Berkeley and U Michigan, yet is still number 1.

More than that, I'm curious as to how that site defined millionaire - by net worth I assume, but it didn't say. And more to my point, how many of those millionaires were trust fund babies that already were (or likely to become) millionaires? Do they count? Most of those schools are expensive academic blue bloods, which I think would skew the data as I'm suggesting, but I'm also willing to admit that I simply don't know and I'm guessing a bit.

Here's an example of what I mean.... When I was in high school, I applied to some schools other than Miami. (phew, here comes some hate for sure....) One of the schools I applied to was Notre Dame (go ahead and bash, my 16/17 year old self deserves it). When I visited, there was a session where the prospective students were sat at round tables for Q/As. To start, we all introduced ourselves and were asked to tell if any family members were alumni. First person mentioned an aunt. Second one said their parents met while at school at Notre Dame. Next one mentioned mom or dad. Next one was a 2 generation legacy.... and the next one said "well I don't have any family who are alumni, but my grandpa was the football coach." The ND admin asked "and who was that?" Answer? Dan Devine.

This was one sample from one dummy (me) from a long time ago. Thing is, I don't think it's that far off from the truth.

Go ahead and throw your rocks at me now.

All fair points and UC Berkeley is a big school, but when it comes to networking, the size of the school matters, the bigger the school and student population, in theory the more networking opportunities. And even if they are trust fund babies, they are still millionaires that you get the chance to network with. Rock thrown.

You throw like a girl.
I'm a little disappointed that you didn't include any insults.

Other than being disappointed in your lack of insults, what you wrote is fair and accurate. I can also add this - I've made very little of my lifetime income via UM networking. That doesn't mean I haven't had any networking wins nor that I'm the prototypical example. HeII I've been to UM alumni events and they're typically dominated by lawyers and financial planners and I am neither. I would be willing to bet that the folks on here who are lawyers and financial planners would have a very different opinion/experience than mine, but maybe not.

Throwing objects has always been my worst athletic skill. I was just specifically replying to the poster who talked about networking AND making millions. And I went to Cal so I'm biased.

If you don’t want to plan for guys to portal out, sure you can do that

Taking 1 WR sounds like a very bad plan though. Think about the FOLLOWING yr.

Toney, Jacobs, Vaughn are definitely out. What if we lose 1 of Mooore/Upshaw to portal this offseason? Sure we signed 4 Frosh WRs last yr, but they are alll unproven. 2 is minimum you should ever take out of HS
