Wingo is going to see the field too. By mid season, assuming all are healthy, the 4 WR seeing the field the most will be Mali, Moore, Upshaw, and Wingo. Barkate will see his fair share too
 
QB development? If we’re judging by high draft picks and followed by NFL success what school has a great history of quarterback development since 2000. Someone who likes to make charts list all the first through third round quarterbacks drafted since 2000 their school and their NFL success. The NFL can’t pick quality quarterbacks half the time.

I’d say Lincoln Riley has done as well as anybody. Three first overall picks, two at Oklahoma and one at Southern Cal, who followed him from Oklahoma. All three won the Heisman. Baker Mayfield is a quality NFL starter, despite what he’s gone through, Kyler Murray made a lot of highlight plays, but has been injured the last couple years and off to his second team. Caleb in Chicago looks like he might be a really good quarterback. Early yet. He definitely progressed with a new coaching staff last year. Every QB needs players around him.

I don’t know about the kid USC has now but he’s probably drafted in the mid rounds.

I’d look at what schools are able to get high school prospects into a system and flourish. Doesn’t mean they’re an NFL prospect because most kids aren’t, regardless of position.

I admittedly wasn’t crazy about him coming out of HS, but he did look better than I expected in his limited opportunities. With that being said, none of that has anything to do with my original point.


Is he locked in as our #3? Or locked in as our #4? Or #5? I assume no. Again, I doubt anyone’s spot is locked & set in stone yet beyond the first 2, which was my original point. I’m sure he will play a lot but so will others. The room is stacked and the competition will likely continue up until the season and beyond.

I think it’s pretty clear Moore will be wide receiver three. Past that, it’s all up in the air.
 
I think a lot is still to be determined, none of us know at the moment…. Good prob to have.

We have the #1 receiver from last year for Miami, Duke and WVU. And the #2 WR from South Carolina. That is wild

People think because Cantwell is a true freshman that he will struggle lol.

What people are overlooking is that he's already testing at an NFL level physically. His 32 reps on the 225 would rank second all time among offensive tackle prospects at the NFL Combine, behind only Russell Okung's 38 reps and ahead of players like Terron Armstead, Joe Thomas, Lane Johnson, Tristan Wirfs, and Penei Sewell. According to D’Money he has been timed at a 4.70 short shuttle is also a very good time for someone who is 6'8" and around 330 pounds at the combine. That time would rank somewhere around 25th.

Then you add in his all world power evident by his recording setting throwing numbers being coached by this staff CRAZY!!

I think people are underestimating just how special his ceiling really is.

I agree but it's a crowded room and I don't think they play him over proven veterans and if Moore is what people think he will be.

Any amount of money you want that, in midseason, Barkate is no worse than 2nd in the WR group is snaps. Barring injuries of course.

Barkate is going to play **** near every snap. I don’t know if it’s a white kid thing or Duke thing or Harvard thing but that kid is an NFL wide receiver. He’s one of the very best receivers in the ACC. I know we’re all excited about the depth here, and we should be. It’s the deepest WR group in 25 years. But let’s pump the brakes. Barkate is a dog and has built in chemistry with our QB. It wouldn’t shock me at all if he led the team in yards.

No it's not at all. Jacobs may win the Z spot. He fits the Z perfectly. Jacobs stretching the field for Mali and Barkate could be the best combination. It's likely there's a heavy rotation after Barkate and Mali.
