Didn’t mean to, I just never saw him play for The U. I was going to mention this in my post. Thanks for the reminder!Don't ever forget Chuck Foreman!
Yep! Wish he’d have had two seasons as a starter.Nobody loves Edge like me...and I realize his 299yds vs UCLA was unbelievable....but keep in mind that Covingtons 71yd TD to Tana (that pulled us within 3...38-35....and Mondriel Fultchers 30yd TD were no slouchs...If Ed Reed doesn't cause that fumble (Delvin Brown recovered) then this convo is mute...Covington had the most underrated arm in UM History....Kid had a cannon...
I still rank Ottis Anderson 1a, because he was the first great Cane RB in my time. And as @SWFLHurricane noted, place Ottis on the JJ teams of the mid 80s and look out.
Edge would be 1b. He was a natural, he seemed to glide through defenses. First time I saw him was a road game at Baylor. I think he scored on his first carry, a 30+yard TD that looked effortless. He was key to Butch re-building, and had he played 1999-2001 he could have been a 2,000-yard season back. Had no flaws.
My favorite story is a description of Edge when he arrived. He spent high school summers working in the sugar cane fields and walked in a grown-*** man, not intimidated anyone.
He & ER20 just threw up The U in the gold jackets! Nostalgia at its finest
Great to hear him acknowledge Coach Soldinger...
Sarge was that Dude....Bro, Soldinger produced greats we haven’t been blessed w/ since.
Great speech.
a coaches coach, if there ever was one...Sarge was that Dude....
