Edge vs Ricky Williams

Edge was incredible his first two years. Had a HOF career, but the way he took over his first two years was a sight to behold. A true all-around RB...size, speed, elusiveness, balance, hands...****.

Williams in '02 was legendary. Both great backs and great dudes. Love both.

Edge was the easy pick for anyone not named Ditka. Edge blocked, was a very good receiver and had an incredible work ethic.
And one more useful fact; Edge is not depressed, mentally ill, bi-polar or whatever Ricky is.

I fairness, Edge walked into the most perfect situation for a running back. He was going to a team with an all pro quarterback and didn’t have to carry the offense. Ricky Williams got stuck on a garbage team with absolutely no help

While I agree with you on Ricky's situation, Edge was drafted to the Colts only 1 year after Peyton was drafted. And, yeah, we all know how the story turned out for Peyton, but he was not an All-Pro QB in his rookie year.

I think that Peyton and Edge both helped each other out.

****** team or not, Williams didn’t have the desire to great. Just like Rashan Salaam, Ki Jana Carter, etc etc

Terrible comparisons. Ricky Williams had over 10,000 career rushing yards including 5 1000 yard seasons. Was his heart always in the game? Probably not, but he made multiple pro bowls and led the league in rushing in 2002. He’s 31st in all time rushing yardage.

Ricky Williams was a very productive player. 2 things which are not his fault will always result in his being downgraded.
1. He was drafted ahead of a HOF player at the same position
2. His coach traded their entire draft to get Williams

Actually, Edge was drafted #4 and Ricky was drafted #5.
