Edge vs Ricky Williams

Ricky Williams had two seasons where he averaged 100 yards rushing per game. Although one was in 2000 when he played 10 games and had exactly 1000 rushing yards. He finished his career with a 4.1 ypc average. His seven seasons with the Dolphins (his peak years) he averaged 4.3 ypc

Edgerrin James had two seasons where he averaged over a 100 yards a game. One of them was 2005 when he played 15 games and had 1506 yards. He also averaged 4.0 yards per carry for his career. During his 7 seasons in Indianapolis he averaged 4.2 ypc.

huh, I really thought Edge had better splits in Indy. Guess I am just getting old

You guys might not remember, but earlier in his career Ricky Williams used to do interviews with his helmet still on because of his social anxiety.

That's not a joke.

He was very uncomfortable with all the cameras and microphones in his face. One of the reasons he self medicated with weed was to relieve his anxiety.

Also true story, the final failed drug test he had with the Dolphins wasn’t for weed. He did a bump of cocaine (what he says is his first and only time) that a teammate gave him and he popped. The NFL doesn’t say what specific drug you test positive for. They just say the player “violated substance abuse policy”. Everyone assumed it was weed but he said it was coke.

One is in Canton...the other is on some remote island smoking a Blunt

Edge was incredible his first two years. Had a HOF career, but the way he took over his first two years was a sight to behold. A true all-around RB...size, speed, elusiveness, balance, hands...****.

Williams in '02 was legendary. Both great backs and great dudes. Love both.
Edge is my favorite back of all time. I was a kid in the 4th grade when he took over the UCLA game for us. Ever since then he was number 1 for me. His first two years were amazing then the injuries but the. He bounced back hard and was still elite but if he didn’t have the injury set back, do you think we maybe talking about one of the all time greatest backs?

I also loved Ricky too. Beast in college then gave the Dolphins his best years. Two great backs.

****** team or not, Williams didn’t have the desire to great. Just like Rashan Salaam, Ki Jana Carter, etc etc
Ki-Jana Carter blew a knee out in his first preseason game, on his third carry, and missed all of his 1995 rookie season. He also missed most/entire seasons in 1997 with a broken wrist and 1998 with a dislocated kneecap. Quite a shame actually.

Man, I still remember my parents dragged me to Disney and I listened to UM-UCLA on the radio that I brought w/ me to the park. Still kicking myself for missing that one!
One of the highlights of my childhood was going to the game and rushing the field at 12 years old. People trying to tear down the goalposts getting tackled by security. I lost a shoe as well. Mayhem lol.

I've been to Canton and visited the HOF.

...

Gimme that ****** island.
But you weren't "Enshrined".....Huge difference....this coming from someone who's been to Canton a dozen times.....Anyone who'd rather sit on an Island smoking a spliff...rather than being enshrined in Canton...I have nothing to say to them...

I wholeheartedly believe if Edge doesn't tear his ACL he is the all time leading rusher. He tore it when it was a long recovery and it was like 2.5 years before he was himself again
