Ed Reed turned down Grambling HC job

Every single sports fan knows by now that great players don't equal great coaches. He's got to prove it.

Ed's been flapping his gums for years about being a P5 hc and nobody is calling. The longer he does nothing, the less interesting he looks. I even think his attitude could be a little off putting to some.

In terms of HBCU's, I think that they're always going to be relevant for the very same purposes that they were relevant in the first place. They try and address the needs of the black community.

I've always had a good relationships with my black teachers and professors throughout my years. They've been the ones to give me recommendations and opportunities. I can't say the same with the other professors but it could have been me as well. I do think that there is a difference in the way your professor teaches and relates with you when he can just see himself in you a little bit.

And for the students it’s probably better to go to a traditional large university. Due to more resources , but also the need to be able to get along with people outside of ones own race. Because they don't want to see him get a legitimate opportunity at coaching. Continually trying to question his "experience" and the changing of the narrative to fit their agenda.

100% True, I’ve just grown tired of doing it, it’s beyond exhausting. And on this board specifically we catch the flak for setting them straight. Lol
 
HBCU's in the 50's, 60's or even the 70's yea, but today black athletes have many options and will go where the money is (or will be).
If Ed Reed really wants to coach he would work his way up any coaching ladder.

There is still biases and discrimination in education. That’s why the opportunity gap is continuing to increase. Just look at state standardize test and student achievement data.

I'm a "minority" and my teachers/professors have been from every possible background imaginable and that didn't matter as long as they were good at explaining and teaching the material.

First of all, I’m not your buddy. I’m not stating that the color of your skin makes you a bad teacher or professor. I’m simply stating that minorities in particular African Americans have found more success in education when their teachers have been of color. No chance... Top recruit's aren't going to want to go there due to their facilities. They might get 1-2 of the Top 300 players a year but none of them will ever be preseason Top 25 teams. Jackson state would lose by 70 If they played us
