These dudes forget what it was like when your were 17-18... All I gave a **** about was *****, money and weed. Jesus himself could've sat down next to me and I wouldn't have paid him no mind.

I know who Reed is. I grew up watching him. I know he is GOAT. For recruits he is ancient history. Obviously he is well known but they were all in elementary school when he retired. They certainly don't know anything about his UM days unless they are die hard canes who looked him up. 20 years ago is prehistoric to someone not even 20 years old.

Twenty years ago didn't exist if you are now 20 years old.

So how many NFL Hall of Fame, College Football Hall of Fame, NFL Top 100 All-Time, 2-Super Bowl Champion, 2-time Consensus All-American and National Championship players are on staff at any university in America?

You don't think a recruit's parents know who Ed Reed is or any kid who shows up and tours Hecht? The guy is a winner and a motivator.

He retired when the recruits were in elementary school. I am 30 and I'm a little removed from HS but I certainly remember thinking (back then) football 20 years ago (when Reed was here) was ancient and barbaric. Obviously not an appt perception but the younger you are the longer your perception of time is. Everyone knows who Reed is. Just doesn't feel as relevant to some kids as it does to you or me whatever his accolades.

He will surely be a boost for anyone recruit meets him. I'm sure we'll land even a few recruits deluded in the idea that they'll get coached by Reed.
