never been there so???? if you think any HS kid is going to a college because a superbowl is 100 miles away from the campus, you the r word.
I've read this 3 times and still can't figure out what your point is. Believe it or not, bud, not every high school aged kid is an ignorant narcissist as you apparently believe. I'd argue every single potential football recruit in the country is well aware who Ed Reed is, likely all admire him greatly, and the vast majority would be downright honored to meet him, much less potentially be coached by him. Yet you manage to find a negative rub to it. You must be a blast at parties.

He retired when the recruits were in elementary school. I am 30 and I'm a little removed from HS but I certainly remember thinking (back then) football 20 years ago (when Reed was here) was ancient and barbaric. Obviously not an appt perception but the younger you are the longer your perception of time is. Everyone knows who Reed is. Just doesn't feel as relevant to some kids as it does to you or me whatever his accolades.

He will surely be a boost for anyone recruit meets him. I'm sure we'll land even a few recruits deluded in the idea that they'll get coached by Reed.
It’s not about being coached by him. It’s about being influenced by Reed in life. Everyone wants to be successful and that includes being around successful people. Reed is what recruits want to be. That is the influence the school needs. Broaden your understanding of relationships

Good point.....................but MOST football players in College and Pros............. who know their sh** ..........knows who Ed Reed is who played for Baltimore. That relentless D that Ed helped direct, ran parallel to his College days at the U,........... so most recruits either heard of saw Reed play, and the HOF accolade is the icing on the cake.
Those posters who believe that recruits............ do not know or respect Reed are full of sh** and they all know it. Ask their parents who influence their decisions too.

Agree. And like someone already said above, the real benefit of bringing Ed Reed onto staff isn't that he is a shiny carrot on a stick that makes recruits run to sign for Miami. No no no, the hope is that his PRESENCE around the program leads to a change of mentality in the locker room. That hopefully will be the case regardless of how much our future kids are enamored with him before they sign. I want the GOAT to help bring a culture of player accountability back.
