East Tennessee State OL Transfer Johnathan Cline transferring to Miami

fine, older depth. I’m cool with it. I hope we are still looking in whatever ways for a true starter preferably LT. I have a sneaking suspicion we’re done here tho. I do love when lineman want to work for Mirabal and Mario, this is not the easy path that’s for sure.

Hey now we’ve had some studs move up. Had a guard go to LSU, a QB go to FSU, DE to TN, the best RB in the UFL the last 2 years, and a back that was better than him that probably would have been an SEC RB1 if the portal was what it is now about 4-5 years ago.

However… that was the exact reaction when everyone watched a kid bolt to LSU. Literally the talk of the town for a week or so.

Will Healy sells kids on the temporary stop to boost their stock and bolt to bigger programs. That’s his model. He’s trying to get some P4 programs (Tennessee and FSU specifically) to send kids there to play and develop instead of standing on the sideline for a year. Lost its traction when they got rid of the spring portal.
Imagine a system where P5 teams could loan players to G5 schools for a year or two of development — similar to professional soccer.

I pass ETSU every week. This is a wild pick up imo. I know nothing about ETSU football but have been meaning too get to a game lol

Essentially any student can withdraw enrollment from one school and enroll in another. Their availability would be based in the academic calendar. I imagine this will be common after spring football. The portal is really nothing but a database

I know the rules have been changed blah blah blah....

But is there anything realistically stopping a grad transfer from changing teams outside of "the portal"?

I gotta think Mario and company are scouring the country looking at offensive lineman with this profile.
