I'd say opposite. If between Lyle Brown I'd probably prefer Lyle stay. He was definitely bad this yr but I think people are overrating Brown a bit at this point. Like He's solid. But imo he was substantially worse than Fletcher this yr. And honestly do I think he is THAT much better than Lofton used as a RB or even what Mallory would likely provide? Immediately sure, but long term? Meh
Really the main benefit I see to Brown is that Fletcher is still *** as a Receiving threat imo So Brown gives the bigger back role who can still be useful as a receiver and blocker, which is why in the playoffs he was the guy on the field in some of those clear passing drives....but my response to that is why can't Lofton be used like that? Go 4 WR with Lofton as RB in those situations!!
And ultimately as bad as Lyle was, I'd rather have the possibility of him actually developing and playing to his potential. Like there is still hope it was mainly lower body injury holding him back. And simply I think Browns Body Type already has 3 other guys on this roster that are similar.
Also I'd just say given our strength absolutely appears to be WR and RB, and TE is MAJOR weakness.... We obviously need to be doing 10 + 20 personnel.
