Early 2026 Depth Chart

Nope, I clearly prefaced it with rule change…That's what this would require, going outside the rules

And it is not 100% they will lose any battle…Definitely not 100%

I'm not reading the rest of that drivel. You're a clown
Has the NCAA won a single lawsuit regarding player movement? Player eligibility?

Who is our kicker ? So many points left on the field , especially in the playoffs
Davis wasn't bad. His playoff struggles consisted of 3 missed FG's kicking in the tornado like winds vs Texas A&M and two 50+ yard FG's one vs Ole Miss and one vs Indiana. Very few college kickers are consistently hitting from 50 yards.

He made a 49 yarder vs Ohio State
Missed from 51 vs Ole Miss
Missed from 50 vs Indiana (hit the upright)

Carter was perfect from 39 and closer on the season.
From 40-49 he was 6 of 10 with two of the misses coming vs A&M in the tornado, a 44 yarder vs Stanford, and a 42 yarder vs NC State.
From 50+ he was 1 of 3 with the lone make coming against Florida from 53 yards

Was he perfect? No. But a kicker who's pretty much rock solid from the low 40's and closer is nothing to scoff at. Kickers like Carniero, Ole Miss's kicker, don't grow on trees. I'd love to have a guy like him but if Miami can find someone similar to Carter sign me up.

Blount is interesting. Personally, I think he needs to stay on the outside. We need a big, athletic edge setter like Bain and Mesidor, and he’s the closest thing we have besides Lowe.

Lowe has potential but is still raw, so I don't expect him to dominate this year (but he should contribute meaningful rotational snaps and improve steadily).

My concern with Blount is that the staff might use him the way they used Mesidor in 2024, asking him to play both DE and DT. A la Mesidor, he risks being too small to anchor as a run‑stopping DT and too heavy to be an explosive DE. I prefer him at defensive end, but the staff needs to commit to a single position imo.

I just have a hard time penciling in Rodriguez at Center at the moment. We will see how he holds up in spring, but he has his hands full going against Moten and Scott. They unfortunately might abuse him
He was Cam's center when we opened in the Swamp two years ago, then got hurt.

There's a reason why he's still here

Moten and Scott will abuse a lot of interior linemen this coming season that won't be an indictment of Ryan

You answered your own question! about McCoy,okunlola and rod! Hard to show something with no playing time and vets in front of you who are good!..they stuck around gotta let it play out!!

Yea, Okunlola has impressed me with his athleticism and disposition. I think he can have a really big year.

I’m starting to think this defense makes a LOT more sense as 34 base than 43 base… in the general sense. Obviously there’s so much variation and hybridization that happens now.

But look at this the only true Bain type SDEs are Blount, Lowe, and Scroggins. And Blount seems far more of a hybrid DT than Bain ever was while here (not that Bain didn’t have that capability, but Bain was a far more productive pure pass rusher off the edge as well as being that strong and thick.)
Edit: totally forgot Asharri Charles who I view long term as a pure SDE along with Lowe

Like basically I’m saying I’d want Lightfoot on the field instead of Chase Smith or something… Or we don’t have to be in nickel every play…

Like when in 34
SOLB: Damon Wilson / Charles
3T: Scott / Davis or Carter / Nagle
NT: Moten / Newton or Stancil / Sainteus
5T: Blount / Lowe / Scroggins or Davis / Bacon or Chukwurah
WOLB: Lightfoot / Pickett / Lafayette

When in 43 (long term)
SDE: Blount / Lowe / Scroggins or Charles
DT: Scott / Davis or Carter / Bacon or Chukwurah
DT: Moten / Stancil or Newton / Nagle / Saunteus
WDE: Wilson / Lightfoot / Pickett / Lafayette

Though NT is only question if we ran more of an odd front.

We will very rarely (never?) have 5 "linemen" on the field at the same time, except for short yardage/goal-line. Wilson/Scott/Moten/Blount/Lightfoot will play roughly 0 snaps together. That's not Heatherman's game. We'll be in Nickel every play and Chase Smith (or whoever takes Bissanithe's role) will play a lot.

In Minnesota he ran a hybrid odd front so some sprinkles of it wouldn’t surprise me. He has the personnel for it all around even at lb
