Dylan Raiola Enters Portal

I’m curious genuinely what everyone sees with him? I guess the accuracy being he’s at 68% or so for the two seasons? Provides nothing as a duel threat and I just assumed we wanted to get someone more mobile.
I'll answer as I watched some tape because I have a hunch feeling this is the QB Mario will want.

Raiola's most impressive attribute is his accuracy on off platform throws. It is quite impressive where he places passes when he is on the move. He wont rip off 40 yard runs like Sorsby and Leavitt can give you, but he can move around enough to extend plays and make a throw. The projection here is if we give him an oline with pass protection like we gave Beck, the potential is sky high.

On a ****** Nebraska team his completion % was above 72. His arm talent is on the upper end of college football.

Id place him in the same tier as CJ Bailey. Haven't decided who I like more, but both have NFL level tools that GMs will love.

I read an article about Raiola by two guys who cover Nebraska and one of the topics was Raiola's lack of a deep ball. They were baffled by it. They posted a few clips of him under throwing his WR pretty significantly. It reached a point were he wasn't even attempting to throw anything over like.. 20 yards.

I'm not for or against him yet. But I'm curious if anyone else has noticed what they saw.

I'd like someone who can run, but I don't deny that Raiola could tear it up in a pass heavy scheme here.

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Why is he the best option?
Well, I really have no business making this assessment, really. It's just my amateur opinion.

But it is based on analytics, measurables, and eye test. Raiola has very good analytics. He has good size, a very strong arm, good footwork, is excellent in the pocket despite a bad OL (moves well and keeps his head down field), has enough running ability, can make a variety of throws (arm angles, speed, trajectory), can throw on the move, and is very accurate.

Frankly, I have never really cared for him and the Mahomes cosplay stuff. I just think he is **** good. And I think he has all the tools to excel in Dawson's offense behind our offensive line with our weapons.

I saw on his highlights that on his deep go routes, yes he puts too much air under his throws. Its like a straight up jump ball.

His best range is the 10 to 25 yard throws. They are impressive.

CJ Bailey has a nicer deep ball.

Give him a YAC demon like Toney or Upshaw and I think he'll do well

Nuts on the table....this is the one for me.

Yeah, he's kind of strange with the Mahomes ****. Oh well, he's a kid and he looks up to one of the all-time greats. You know who else is a weirdo poser who worships someone else and does everything they do? Jayson Tatum. World Champion. Can you play, or can you not? IMO, this kid can really play and he'd thrive here with this line, weapons, and scheme.

And, I'm sure most people know this but I doubt everyone does...his grandpa played football at The University of Miami. Family ties here, for sure.

Is this kid a lead-pipe lock, sure thing, 100% certainty who wins the Heisman next year? Who the **** knows? Nothing is a sure thing. But I think this kid really fits what we do here very, very well. I'll take my chances on this and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong (Full disclosure, I thought we could do better than Mendoza last year at this time so the inside of my skull houses one (1) unpopped popcorn kernel, at best)
If he on that Mahomes doppelgänger bs ion want him
